Dog walk and breakfast.
I had McDonalds porridge
The Welsh shared a cheesy flatbread,
And ate it in seconds, with little moans of delight.
Coffee then down to work.
The living room needs a spruce
The sun is shining and the windows are wide open.
The laundry is hanging in the sun by the front door and my T shirts are folded and airing
The cottage smells of clean washing and I am reminded of my grandmother who used to visit the family home on Mondays to do the ironing.
Affable Despot Jason, was out in the. Village as I returned with my coffee. He’s sporting longer hair and looks like a Rock chick. Terry waved as did Mrs Trellis ( hers was a vague wave in response to me tooting her) and the village looks bright and welcoming in the pre spring sun.
I will leave you with another choir, not my lisping Spanish choir but a Welsh one
Enjoy
Nice pictures painted.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew x
DeletePutting me to shame! I'm trying to work up the energy/enthusiasm to start decorating. Think I'll start with the downstairs loo. Nothing too ambitious! xx
ReplyDeleteBaby steps and clean bog how wonderful
DeleteHow vulgar of you to toot Mrs Trellis! No wonder she only gave a cursory Queen Mother wave in response. Was she wearing her erect bobble hat?
ReplyDeleteOf course it’s still winter
DeleteYou make the mundane seem somehow interesting
ReplyDeleteThank u
DeleteThe first load of laundry is in the washer. Still too cool to open the windows here.
ReplyDeleteI’ve now done 10 loads, the place looks like a Chinese laundry
DeleteWhat a marvelous video! I watched it twice!
ReplyDeleteGood looking men in wales!!!
DeleteWow, you are doing so well on the weight loss, John, just don’t disappear. I just looked around and have over a dozen pairs of readers scattered around. I should toss the scratched up ones. We still have loads of snow on the ground but today the temperature went above freezing for the first time in a long while and the sun has some warmth in it. Maybe we will have a good melt today. The snow plows are very slow this year but yesterday they removed the snowbanks on the other side of my street. I can’t wait until I can open the windows and get some fresh air. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils are budding and are late this year, the cold snap in Jan put everything back
Delete2 days of Spring cleaning must make your home sparkle and feel lovely. The fresh scent after a deep clean is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI still have a 5-6 inch snow cover and mud season is next when everything starts to melt.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve peaked now, it’s taken me the whole day to shampoo carpets which I had to do twice as Roger christened tge wet carpet himself
DeleteMy dog just went out and promptly got sprayed in the face by a skunk.. i want to wash her face and eyes but she is disobedient and will not come near me. My house stinks and right now I just don’t need this. I thought skunks hybernated but I must be wrong. I will need to open the windows after the smell outside goes away but that will probably be tomorrow. Dogs ya gotta love em. Gigi
ReplyDeleteWhat dies SKUNK smell like, I’ve always wondered
DeletePungent, it makes your eyes water and you can feel nauseous. The joke here is don’t run over anything black and white, its hard to get rid of the smell from your car. My house and dog still stink. Maybe it smells like pot but much stinkier. Gigi
DeleteStrong and almost chemical. It makes your eyes burn. It's really horrible. I once was sprayed by a skunk. It was not even a direct hit, but for a couple weeks after, every time that we ran PT and I began to sweat, people would say, "I smell a skunk..." Pretty foul.
DeleteBut it has to be said that skunks are lovely animals, very friendly.
DeleteI love that fresh laundry smell. I don't know which detergent my next door neighbour uses but when she is doing her laundry I linger by the garden fence and inhale!
ReplyDeleteStalker
DeleteWhat a magnificent choir, divine harmonies, and such rich tones. Thank you, John, this was a marvelous tho teary start to my day!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt on Day 2 your cottage will start to sparkle.
Lovely glimpse of this morning in Trelawnyd. Another one for the book!
Hugs!
I finished the living room around 6 bloodysatisfying
DeleteMy kids used to hover around the ironing board while I ironed. They loved the smell so much. (I teared up listening to the choir).
ReplyDeleteMe and my sister would sit and watch my gran iron too, and listen to her stories
DeleteI can still hear the soft bang of the iron on the board
DeleteYour descriptions of your grandmother always made me. Tear up . Did you call her Gran ?
DeleteLee
Yes, we all called her gran Gran Fry
DeleteWas she a cook?
DeleteLee
lol her surname was Fry
DeleteAmazing singing. Gave me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteMe too….and so many good looking welshmen in one room
DeleteTears! The power of song. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI know, the lead singer has a lovely voice

DeleteLove your views on village life.
ReplyDeleteHail Wales! That choir was great.
ReplyDeleteThat sent shivers down my spine. I watched the show but must have missed them.
ReplyDeleteSo good to feel spring in the air some days now. I love reading of your spring cleaning and the village slowly reawakening after winter. I am struggling to recover after being quite ill with a viral infection and have no energy. I have enjoyed sitting in the sun and feeling the healing energy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful singing from the choir!
That beautiful choir brought back to mind a fantastic series a good few years ago - Last Choir Standing - and I've been down the rabbit hole of YouTube because of it. Such a joy!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I was awake early!
DeleteSpring can't come too soon for me. Your post offered an early glimpse of it.
ReplyDeleteMum and I watch the rugby just to hear the crowd singing the Welsh national anthem ( yes we're Welsh 😊)
