I need a boost today so lunch with a friend at Bryn Williams is a tonic. I took the welsh down the Promenade first in a first responce to anti diabetic expercise, then spoke to Nu in the car before sitting down at a nicely laid table overlooking the sea.
The food was so so but Bryn Williams has lovely views and good coffee
Then it was another walk for the Welsh , followed by supervision in Prestatyn .
We went to an art instillation at Porth Eirias, portaits of local.people from Colwyn Bay. It was simple, moving and very effective
It was almost dark when we got home,
Hey ho
What did you have to eat? Nothing too carby I hope!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at photos, wondering who they are and what their story is. xx
Beef with a tiny caesar salad 🙁
DeleteIt's good to see respectful images of ordinary people. We seem obliged to view far too many pictures of the rich and famous. Ordinary people are more interesting and all have stories to tell.
ReplyDeleteI loved the dinosaur man
DeleteI really enjoy looking at menus, so ta for posting the menu from Bryn Williams! What did you choose to eat?
ReplyDeleteThe gallery photos are a delight and I know the Welsh enjoyed their walk. Were they allowed in Bryn Williams?
Hope these treats boosted your happiness!
Hugs!
I had the beef, ( over priced and tasteless) and the smaller side salad known to human existence
DeleteAt first read I thought you meant the Welsh were prediabetic! I like the TRex portrait.
ReplyDeleteJust me I’m afraid
DeleteInterestingly complex menu choices---what did you have? Are the dogs allowed in the restaurant? I was happy for the mention of Nu, you haven't written of her in ages.
ReplyDeleteNo dogs allowed, but they had been walked beforehand so slept in the car
DeleteI had the beef ( poor choice)
She’s ways there for me
The beef looks delish in the description. I love papardelle tho I suppose for a while you must avoid carbs. And I don't think you eat much beef, do you? ///As for exercise, remember how you used to labor endlessly w the animals and also rode your bike, walked all around the village delivering eggs, hiked up the Gob thing...as spring arrives, you'll be inspired again.
DeleteI'm so curious about the 800 calorie diet mentioned, must be like no food at all....
Bravo to the person who showed up in their best dinosaur costume!
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh too! You know, I just want to assure you that you will make the transition, but starting out is always difficult. It is quite a change in lifestyle, thinking, eating...everything changes. You are a stalwart character. You will get there. So will I.
DeleteIt’s not rocket science , just following a plan
DeleteNice to see those photos. I think I like the black and white ones best.
ReplyDeleteI browsed that menu but can't decide what to order ....
It’s nice to be out , a treat
DeleteSalt and pepper squid for me please. Good prices too!
ReplyDeleteI wish I’d had that but too many calories
DeleteGreat portraits and of course I am especially drawn to the person in the T-rex outfit; one of our kids had a friend who for several years was likely to be wearing a somewhat similar shark costume which I really admired. And someone is holding a big black poodle? Your dogs are really good about waiting in the car, or do they come in for restaurant meals and your supervision?
ReplyDeleteWhatever, 2 walks sounds very stretching!

I need to push my exercise, hard because my elevated blood sugars are making me very fatigued
DeleteJohn, if you try the Newcastle diet (800 cals a day for 12 weeks) it's recommended you don't increase your exercise, presumably because of the restricted calorie intake. But if your plan tells you otherwise, go for it. You've got the bloody-mindedness to achieve your goals! xx
DeleteI’m planning for that x
DeleteThe dino is a masterclass
ReplyDeletePriceless
Lee
I had avocado toast for brunch today. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a very restorative low key day; something that is often needed but we rarely have time for. Great photos! Lovely dog walk,s good company...shame the food was so-so, but intrigued by that Bloody Mary ketchup on the menu!
ReplyDeleteI'm horrified at the prices, but it's been years since I ate out. I'm coeliac, and after a few bad experiences, don't really trust anyone to cook for me.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a great idea for a photo exhibit. I’d enjoy seeing it.
