Darragh woke me around 3am.
I’ve lost one slate from the roof so far.
South of the village , at Mia Hall several large trees had been felled, almost closing the main road.
I cooked sausages for lunch, giving Mary and Roger one each as a treat
And before going to bed ( I’m on split nights this week which is a bugger) I lifted my Christmas Wreath from the wall and brought it in.
My sister made it and if you look closely you can see two black kittens plating in the foliage
Glad to hear you are ok. Yael ❤️
ReplyDeleteSplit nights sounds awful. They'll really bugger up your metabolism. The sooner you can give it up, the better!
ReplyDeleteIs it my eyesight? I can't see any black kittens. The wreath is lovely, though and a good thing you brought it in. It would be wrecked otherwise. xx
Oh, yes, I can see the kitties now. Play fighting, just above the berries at the bottom of the wreath. xx
DeleteGood to hear you emerged unscathed. It seems to have been pretty rough across there. That wreath is definitely too beautiful to have been left out for the ravages of Darragh. (I can't see the kittens either!) He was a very bad boy.
ReplyDeleteTake care John, hope you don’t lose any more tiles. That is a beautiful wreath that Janet put together, I think I see the kittens. They look like black holes. It would be nice to just sit in front of a roaring fire instead of going to work. You will get there one day. Gigi
ReplyDeleteSo glad there's been no further damage - so far - than the loss of one roof tile but am sorry about the large trees felled at Mia Hall.
ReplyDeleteSplit nights are awful and hope you fare well.
I saw the black kitty silhouettes at the bottom of the wreath's circle. Lovely wreath by the talented Janet, too!
Sleep well in preparation for what I hope is a gentle shift.
Hugs!
Your sister has many gifts. I hope that’s as bad as you get.
ReplyDeleteWith all the things your sister does and gifts you, she sounds just lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you, Mary, Roger, Bun & Weaver are fine. Hope you lost no more than the one slate.
ReplyDeleteThe wreath is lovely and the playing kittens are adorable!
Wishing you safe travels to & from work!
As often as trees fall in a high wind on this island, I'm surprised there are any left!
ReplyDeleteAm I imagining things or do I see two little kitty eyes underneath the left side of the wreath greenery, just under the red bow?
ReplyDeleteA pretty Christmas wreath. I love the smell of them.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how big and dangerous storm Darragh was/is. Hope you're ok.
ReplyDeleteI can see a couple of black areas but can't make them out to be kittens. There could be a small single cat shape bottom left and a bigger black patch bottom right but they could be shadows. Is this a joke, Emperor's new clothes and all that?
ReplyDeleteI'll look again but we need a photo with an arrow on to show where.
Lovely wreath.
Jean.
Ah! Now I see them! Enlarged the photo even more. Sorry to think you were teasing us. Clear as crystal now. How lovely.
ReplyDeleteJean.
Christmas wreath? I thought that Jesus died at Easter!
ReplyDeleteGood idea to bring the wreath in. I heard Wales got the brunt of the storm.
ReplyDeleteHope the winds have died down and you are cozy and safe.
ReplyDeleteFalling trees is never good. Loss of one roof tile is not so bad. Hopefully, the repair is an easy fix.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and rest well, Mary
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to hear that the storm didn't create too much havoc. Will you be able to replace the tile yourself?
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely wreath, your sister always thinks of the special little touches on her gifts to you doesn't she. Stay safe. xx
ReplyDeletegood one
