Life on a Winter Wednesday

 Lazy day today.
Long hot shower where I scrubbed everything that needed scrubbing.
Clean clothes
Clinique Happy
Coffee and paperwork in the Storyhouse library
Followed by a film The Blitz
The library has some lovely original features mashed together with modern design

The ceiling above my head

I was quoted in the Trelawnyd Community Association newsletter yesterday too
What fun
lol

Forgive the coffee stains , as usual I had a major dribbling moment down my front .

I’ve just got time to update you all,on Bun & Weaver
Weaver, is a funny little soul. She’s quiet and aloof and just keeps herself away from me and the dogs and life it would seem. Perhaps she’s just self contained ,
Perhaps not.
She’s happiest with her sister and sits for long periods watching the ponies in their field.
Bun however has suddenly become affectionate and loving, cuddling up,to me on the couch when Mary is absent and falling asleep on my hip when im in bed.

  1. A lazy, pottering day is sometimes just the thing. I have many of those! I'm glad Bun has come out of her shell and is a cuddly cat. Maybe she'll have a word with Weaver and tell her it's quite nice having a cuddle. xx

  2. They are all characters aren't they, half the fun of having kittens is watching their personalities develop.

  3. Bun will lead and Weaver might follow. Time will tell.
    Congratulations on the Applefest.
It sounds like the Hall kitchen plans are moving forward and that has to be great for the community.

It's important to handle them from an early age, especially for vet trips and vaccinations etc. I don't recall how old yours are now John, but probably still on three meals of wet kitten food a day with dry for grazing. Feeding time is also a good time to pick them up briefly.
Do Weaver and Bun know their own names? As soon as I had my latest kittens at 14 weeks old, I repeated each one's name as they looked at me as I cuddled or just stroked them. They soon learnt their individual name. Two other words they soon learnt were "down," pointing in the direction at first, but now just the word. The other word soon learnt was "no". Simple words, no need to raise you voice, just a look and the word. They've just turned 1 year. They still get up to mischief when inside and I'm in a different room, especially the girl. They still chase each other round and play fight. They are affectionate, adored and have lots of cuddles. They are happy and loved. They have boundless energy and still act like kittens. Now bigger, zoomies inside the house mean they are better at knocking things over! Which I forgive.
It doesn't seem five minutes since they were small, for me, they grow up too soon.
They make me smile and the house feel like a home.
I'm so glad you had two. Weaver will come to you more in time I imagine.
Dogs are lovely, but kittens are sooooo soft and silky to stroke and cuddle.
Have fun watching them John, and their cuddles are so relaxing.
      Jean.

  6. The personalities of black cats. I love them and have had a few... Shadow was a kitten stray we picked up in the bushes around a bank in town... She never did warm up... she was a feed me, water me leave me alone kinda cat... Jinx was a lover... He was another stray kitten that came from my inlaws ranch. But you could tell he was a lover from the start... He loved to be petted and cuddled and just spoiled rotten... Miss having cats... but hubs is allergic... so i'll enjoy yours.. Hugs! deb

Thanks ever so much for the Bun & Weaver update. Watching (even from afar) them grow, develop, and sort themselves out with you, Mary & Roger is delightful and heartwarming.

How nice to have the luxury of a lazy day with a few pleasant outings and the boost of being quoted!
It is marvelous that you have helped start the new tradition of Applefest!
Ah, the fun of kittens and discovering their personality quirks. We're enjoying our grand-cat who currently lives next door.

    Hugs!

  11. Thank you for sharing this Winter Wednesday with us. Reading your blog reminds me to be more appreciative of every moment each day brings. I loved seeing pictures of the library (I love libraries in general), loved the article (how great was that!) and then the update about the kittens.

  17. Maybe Weaver likes to just watch and enjoy life more from a distance. I know little about cats and kittens, so hopefully she will come to you soon for a cuddle.

  18. Fascinating how cats from the same litter and always together can be so different. I hope they didn’t take that quote out of context. It’s tough being a celebrity.

  20. When I can read I follow several Horse rescues. I find that the horses are wonderful These horses have not been treated well and many still have the ability to love. I am sure your sweet kitty can enjoy them from afar.
