Frame of Reference

In supervision I am always being reminded to see things from my clients frame of reference, ie from their unique perspective.
It’s a hard skill to develop and to learn as we all analyse and unpick people on the hoof so to speak. I’m trying to view Trump’s apparent victory from the American voters point of view.
Most want more money in their pay checks, cheaper prices in the shops and a life free of the anxiety of illegal migration
Not that much different to the aspirations of the voters in the UK Brexit vote of 2016 me thinks.

I’m sad that Trump got in again.
He’s a liar, and a buffoon.
And America wanted you

  1. Trump will give the American people none of the things they hope for and a lot of suffering instead. There’s a sucker born every minute.

  2. I've been surprised by election results in the past, but I've never been more surprised by this outcome. Obviously I have no understanding of America.

Me either and I was born here. Terrible outcome and it will only get worse.

I am shocked that there are more stupid people that live in America than I thought. Has Democracy made it possible to eliminate itself?

  3. Look. Please know that "America" doesn't want Trump and his authoritarian plans and "America" didn't choose him. I can't explain the Electoral College in a brief comment once again, it has overruled the majority vote, this time allowing a minority to install a convicted felon against the rule of the people.

Last time Clinton did win the popular vote but, so far, Trump not only has passed the 270 electoral college threshold, but is also winning the popular vote. (51% v 47%)

    2. I guess I'm asking our overseas friends not to lump those of us in that 47% in with those who, against their own best interests, voted for him. The two parties are not the same; Trump will abandon Ukraine, the EU and your little island, and he will bury Gaza. It's going to get very bad for us in the US and for the rest of the world as well.

      That’s democracy for you.

  4. I think that just like the UK, both the US parties have pretty much the same agenda. One of self wealth and deceit. My only hope is that Trump stops Israel murdering everyone around them. Then the world might start to gather themselves a bit. Although, thinking about it, maybe the powers that be, just like water through sand, will just find another way to get what they want in the middle east.
    Hello John.

  5. I'm dumbfounded by the result. A lying, misogynistic, racist, convicted felon who has previously incited violence against his own people. WTF?

  7. Can you imagine Robert Kennedy in charge of the Department of Health? He wants to remove the Dept. of Education. Don’t get me started on our rights as women. Or the effects on Social Security. The list is endless. It is such a disgusting, awful day for those of us here who see Trump as he is. I’m not sure people realize how bad a person he really is, and how vindictive, and how bad it is going to be. A very sad time indeed.

  9. No, we didn't want dump back in office. I fear for us, for women, for LGBTQIA plus, for immigrants. This lunatic and his evil cronies will set us back to the dark ages, undoing all that we've fought for. And just like Hitler, for those people who supported him at first and then realized what he was doing, he will turn on them, too. I for one will be standing here saying, welp, hope you're happy, you did this. I hope none of the women you know and love need abortions or reproductive health care, they won't be able to get it now. I am so NOT proud to be an American.

  10. This American did not and many others did not. I am sick for our country today.

At least it is only four years. It’s been double that since 52% of those who voted decided they “wanted their country back” and voted for Brexit not having a clue what that would mean.

Well, its the old question: Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?
Whenever a party loses, I believe they only have the party to blame. IMO, they hung onto Biden for too long and appointed an unpopular VP who just couldn't answer the questions. She tried to distance herself from Biden and was unsuccessful.
Over half the country are not Hitler worshippers or racist. Sure some are, just as there are racist democrats. Obama never would have been elected twice if that were true and if permitted he probably would have won a 3rd term. I believe if Michelle had been the candidate the Democrats could have won. I am still in shock at how RFK Jr was treated. I just can't get over that.
