Pondwork
The village pond is looking lush and very clean, but weeds needed clearing and marshalled by village leader Helen some dozen or so volunteers lent a hand at six pm to do the work
Old planes are flying over my house on way to flyover the Veterans hospital a couple of blocks away. They do this every year on D day. The old guys just love it.
Isn't it lovely when the weather plays nicely and plans can be executed. Well done all the volunteers. The pond area is looking very healthy and I bet the local wildlife is enjoying it. xx
I love how your little village just pitches in to do so many great things. It must be lovely to live in a small town. Was that good boy Roger tied on the fence? He's adorbs!
Someone used the word 'community' as we spoke, and I've been preoccupied with trying to define that. But seeing your pictures has defined it for me. It looks like a very nice way to spend a few hours.
Looks lovely! Well done, team - this can be hard and smelly work, as well as very wet. Good to see the pond's guard dog on patrol. The essence of community spirit in a very real village.

ReplyDeleteI have been wanting the see the pond, how lovely it has naturalized. It looks cold there, everyone in sweaters and down vests?

DeleteRoger seems very curious.
ReplyDeleteI am struggling to see dear Mary. She must be very good at camouflage! - Jackie
ReplyDeleteThat's right, all I can eventually see is a piece of her leash and that's it.

ReplyDeleteLovely village spirit at its best - aided and abetted by that dog watching everything!
ReplyDeleteMore good community spirit and service!
ReplyDeleteI so admire, and envy, the way your neighbors pull together,
ReplyDelete'Weeds' can so quickly take over a pond. Well done the team.
