Apologies for deleting the blog and its more balanced reader comments , but I’ve just got home to briefly witness the bunfight which ensued earlier.
What a palaver ….
Anyhow I took my painkillers and washed my face and went to Liverpool
Nu is over there seeing family and she squeezed me in for lunch at Mowgli
The best medicine ever.
I even did some shopping, buying a few lurid shirts for my holiday and these great shoes
He’s buried in a shady corner of the field
Glad you are feeling better, John. Take care! xx
ReplyDeleteI’m going to bed early tonight I’m tired
DeleteCool shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteVery Summer.
XOXO
I thought so , I’m going for quirky
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling well enough for a jaunt to "the Pool" (think scouse accent as you read that, John) and lunch with Nu. Nice that Albert is buried close to home, in one of his haunts. PS you did the right thing deleting that post. 'Nuff said! xx
ReplyDeleteIt was exhausting and pitiful …..lovely lunch though the daal was watery
DeleteLove the new shoes and lunch with Nu was the best medicine ever! How br brilliant that she was nearby.
ReplyDeleteThis post explains my puzzlement as you'll see from the email I sent before finiding this new post.
Hugs!
It took only four hours
DeleteGreat color, take care.
ReplyDeleteI am xx
DeleteEasier for you to take that post down than to bother with it. Amazing how one person can cause such havoc. I'm glad things are smoothing out a bit for you. We will all miss Albert on the scene, but he will remain in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteThank you that was kind
DeleteI'm glad you are feeling better and are off to lunch with Nu in Liverpool. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI’ve just returned , I did xx
DeleteLove the shoes. They are very ... green...
ReplyDeleteAnd very me…ie untidy lol
DeleteBest wishes for your holiday, not sure about the shoes. The color is fine, but they look like they might come apart rapidly. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteI know they look homemade
DeleteGlad to read that Albert will forever be close. I cried like a baby when I read of his passing. Those shoes speak holiday for sure. Nu is one of "your people" and a balm to a bruised heart.
ReplyDeleteYes…..she warmed me
DeleteGood on you - life’s too short and precious to put up with nonsense. How nice and fortuitous that you were able to touch base with Nu. And, your shirts and those shoes will brighten any day!
ReplyDeleteNonsense is the word …..you thought the shows were loud you could see the shirts !!!!
DeleteOooh, Chaat Bombs with Nu at Mowgli, I bet that's made you feel better! X
ReplyDeleteThe chaat bombs were all over my top
DeleteThat's very wasteful of you!
DeleteI was in Mowgli two weeks ago with my son, who's just found out he's gluten intolerant.
He was majorly pissed off when he discovered that Chaat Bombs are made with wheat flour! X
Here in the US it is Memorial Day Weekend and the Official start of the summer . The weather here in Pennsylvania is gorgeous. Wishing everyone everywhere a happy weekend and try to remember those who gave their lives for us.
ReplyDeleteNicely put Linda xx
DeleteWhen will the cobbler finish those shoes? There are some tatty edges there.
ReplyDeleteThat’s very me YP tatty at the edges lol
DeleteSo good to hear you're feeling better and were able to enjoy a visit with Nu. Time spent with the best-loved in our lives is the best medicine!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright green shoes. Your holiday will be here soon! Hope your tooth is sorted and treated by a dentist before your holiday.
Take care, John dear.
I wonder if I’ve had an ear infection rather than a tooth
DeleteGotta love the shoes!! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers jimbo
DeleteThose shoes are quite unique and fun I must say - and should brighten people's day x🌻
ReplyDeleteThey brightened mine
DeleteIf that's your choice of footwear it's not surprising you're still single!
ReplyDeleteGood point well made
DeleteOh anonymous at 1643 and 1641, you probably ran up your basement stairs, said bye to the folks and went and got u a pair! Oh, that green eyed monster rears its head all the time. ;).
ReplyDeleteOoh anonymous talking to anonymous, how daft can it get?
DeleteCowards all lol
DeleteI love the shoes. My cousin, who lives for labels, told me I simply had to buy a certain brand of shoes -- because EVERYONE is buying them. I had never heard of them and can’t even remember the name. But I looked online. They looked just like your new pair and cost close to $1,000. I hope you didn’t spend that much. I don’t blame you for deleting the previous. Sad.
ReplyDelete£14.99
DeleteLooks like I missed all the action of the previous post. I read of Albert's passing before I had my coffee and left without reading comments (sad enough about it without others' comments). Lucky me. As for the shoes, I have a pair of Crocs (first pair ever, recommended by foot doctor) in a shade like that. I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteNina
Nina , you missed nothing but a painfully rude and truly horrid commentator
DeleteAs for crocs you know where I stand lol
About those shoes, John. I like the soles.
ReplyDeleteIt’s all about a good soul my friend x
DeleteGlad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteDon't those shoes look inside out at first look...but if they are comfortable..go for it!
I just loved them, the. Moment I saw them
DeleteMe again, to remind you to take comfy older shoes on your trip in case the green new and jazzy shoes aren't comfortable for the long treks.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams!
Point taken
DeleteJohn, well done for deleting your past post
DeleteDo not give such a bile voice the time of day
JS
Let’s forget. It now x
DeleteThose shoes are pretty cutting edge. May the sun always shine on Albert's resting place.
ReplyDeleteThank you deArheart x
DeleteGlad Albert rests nearby..... and I love the shoes, though probably not the most supportive when on a long walk! Great color, though! They seem very *you*
ReplyDeleteSusan M
Scruffy lol too right
DeleteWow, I wonder if the shoes come in my size?
ReplyDeleteXX
Ceci
Ooh I have a fan x
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad you replied . U need your own blog , u caustic swine

Hels from Oz
I love the fact you and john have a past
ReplyDeleteI hope your tooth pain does turn out to be an ear, or sinus, infection - they're so much cheaper to deal with!! I went to the dentist a few months ago, quite sure I was in for a thousand dollars worth - nope, just a sinus infection. Phew.
ReplyDeleteI saw that perverted response before you kindly removed it and nearly responded with the rudest words I've even used - fortunately you drowned her.
Those shoes!! what fun!! I'm glad they're cheap fun - I'm not sure how they'll last, but I'm looking forward to seeing them and the lurid clothes! Holiday snaps, please.
I am sorry John and readers, I was the one that made the basement comment. I was defending you from the rude comments. I loved your shoes. Jen
ReplyDeleteWell...about those shoes...you'll certainly be able to find your feet in the dark!
ReplyDelete(I jest. I have a cream colored pair of shoes much like those and they are comfortable.)
Those are the shoe equivalent of torn jeans. Perfect for a holiday!
ReplyDeleteThe shirts and shoes seem perfect for a fun break. Time to let go a bit and just enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cro. Got any ripped jeans? Or tatty old denim shorts? lol.
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes! They are quirky, and fun, and will bring smiles to many faces! I hope the same can be said about us! Sure your time with Nu helped restore your spirits. Maybe a bit more of good fate sent your way. Rita in Austin
ReplyDeleteDon't think I've ever seen green shoes before - well, apart from wellies (if they count) and maybe a slipper or two.
ReplyDeleteI love your shoes John! Are they as comfy as they look? I hope you have a fedora to go with them for your hols and other sunny shennanigans throughout the year. Sharon x
ReplyDeleteI have the torn jeans, now just need a pair of those cool shoes. Guess I am a bit scruffy too! GG
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes! They shout SUMMER FUN! And I love your writing, John. The way you pull us all into your life, the love you have for your dear animals, friends and family, and your beloved town and its people - I find it all truly endearing. Bless Albert - he's on the other side with his buddies.
ReplyDeleteHave only just seen the news about Albert. Very sorry to hear he's gone.
ReplyDeleteI like the colour, and they look very comfortable. They hadn’t got DH’s size at TKMaxx unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes, but I'm not sure I'd wear them!
