I have several nice pieces of art now
Eclectic pieces.
Some Welsh from Welsh artists.
Others from all around the world.
This is the one I would save first.
It’s not my Josiah Clinton Jones watercolour
Nor is it my lovely Sea Pinks by Fiona Carver or Irene Goodier” Off the beaten track” the study of an autumn wood in acrylics.
It is a simple homemade card from a blogger , of a goldfish
Hand painted and personalised
With the words
John, Just Keep Swimming
This simple little painting has got me through many dark days indeed
What a lovely piece of art work and a great sentiment. It's the only thing we can do, just keep swimming. Sometimes with the tide, sometimes against and occasionally a life boat comes along to help us on our way. xx
ReplyDeleteLike choir, and good friends this little card got me through many bad times
DeleteSimple and effective
ReplyDeleteAnd sweet
DeleteVery kind of that blogger and great that you had it framed. Is the building behind the bush in the photo the new build with the barking dogs?
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is,
DeleteWinter has quietened the mutts , I’m dreading the summer
Just stop drowning would have been useful too.
ReplyDeleteNot a nice hand painted illustration for that one
DeleteThe best and favourite pictures on our walls tend to be the happy accidents, and that goldfish is fabulous. Your blogger friend is a great talent. And the art in simplicity should never be underestimated. Hey that makes you smile every time it catches your eye, especially if feeling a bit low.
ReplyDeleteAnd it does.
DeleteSuch a good phrase, it's all we can do isn't it?

As tim alluded to, what’s the alternative
DeleteSage advice.
ReplyDeleteCommon sense I guess
DeleteDitto, here. Original art hangs on several walls -- but my treasure is a card which displays the photo of a rain-soaked owl and the caption: "I'm tired of seeking wisdom. Somebody bring me a drink and a whoopee cushion."
ReplyDeleteChum who sent it, crossed out "seeking wisdom" and wrote "saving the world."
Yes I’m glad I’ve framed such gifts m from friends and family
DeleteWhilst walking my dogs someone proclaimed "it's Toto"- I believe it was a message to live my life along the sunny pathway x🏙
ReplyDeleteI hope you skipped
DeleteI often do John - and stomp in puddles x 🌄🌂
DeleteLovely art, lovely message!
ReplyDeleteIt is isn’t it?
DeleteLovely sentiment. I frame greeting cards as well. The last piece of art I purchased was Prairie Colors by Donna Hanson using the encaustic technique of painting with beeswax mixed with demar resins. I spotted this art piece in a local gallery. When I received my first government pension check, I was determined not to spend it all on fenceposts so back to the gallery I went.
ReplyDeleteYes, I’ve done similar . Something beautiful is rather healing
DeleteWe need more walls for all of the beauty in our lives.
ReplyDeleteVery poetic David x
DeleteYou have a nice collection of art that means something to you. Lovely memories in each piece! xx
ReplyDeleteLike antiques, I guess I don’t own the art, just look after it for a while
DeleteThat is a lovely card and made with sincere good wishes.
ReplyDeleteYou have collected very nice pieces of art and your art wall is impressive.
The therapy of art eh?
DeleteBeautifully said, beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteI adore the calligraphy too
DeleteNice! And good advice too. :)
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteThe best x
DeleteWise words and a lovely gift!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
It was sent ant just the right time to have an important resonance
DeleteWhat a delightful card John.
ReplyDeleteIt means a great deal
DeleteA couple of my favourite framed prints are actually cards from my blog readers. Sometimes they just 'get us' and what we write about don't they. The one thing off my walls that I would save, and luckily it's right near the front door, is my little Welsh wooden gecko.
ReplyDeleteLovely x
DeleteA talented and empathic blog friend-what more could you ask.❤️ Catriona
ReplyDeleteI remember this card arriving--at just the right moment. Lovely calligraphy and sentiment.
ReplyDeleteNothing on my walls that I would save, I'd rescue my dog and myself. The other night, planning ahead if the power failed in subzero windchill night, I only gathered essential for myself and Mo my pug--medications, eyeglasses, Mo's indoor ID tags, etc. [it's best to organize while the power is still on...].
Yes lizzy, it kind of saved me just a little
DeleteMy post has vanished I must have pressed the wrong button. Anyhow I was asking if you had thought about getting a counselor John. Also why not use your blog to tell your marriage story so we can understand and help. Talking about feelings could be a turning point for you. x Angela x
ReplyDeleteAngela
DeleteNot this Angela to be clear .
DeleteWonderful .... a personalized piece of art....just for you. Great sentiment. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGemma's person above.
ReplyDeleteI too thought it lovely.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful reminder, worthy of its frame!
ReplyDeleteI love that little picture.
ReplyDeleteYou might say that, I couldn’t possibly comment
ReplyDeleteI like your little picture, being a Pisces (2 fish swimming opp directions/indicesiveness) this would be a good one for me too perhaps :)
