Just Keep Swimming

I have several nice pieces of art now
Eclectic pieces.
Some Welsh from Welsh artists.
Others from all around the world.
This is the one I would save first.
It’s not my Josiah Clinton Jones watercolour
Nor is it my lovely Sea Pinks by Fiona Carver or Irene Goodier” Off the beaten track” the study of an autumn wood in acrylics.
It is a simple homemade card from a blogger , of a goldfish
Hand painted and personalised
With the words
John, Just Keep Swimming
This simple little painting has got me through many dark days indeed

  1. What a lovely piece of art work and a great sentiment. It's the only thing we can do, just keep swimming. Sometimes with the tide, sometimes against and occasionally a life boat comes along to help us on our way. xx

Very kind of that blogger and great that you had it framed. Is the building behind the bush in the photo the new build with the barking dogs?

The best and favourite pictures on our walls tend to be the happy accidents, and that goldfish is fabulous. Your blogger friend is a great talent. And the art in simplicity should never be underestimated. Hey that makes you smile every time it catches your eye, especially if feeling a bit low.

Such a good phrase, it's all we can do isn't it?

  7. Ditto, here. Original art hangs on several walls -- but my treasure is a card which displays the photo of a rain-soaked owl and the caption: "I'm tired of seeking wisdom. Somebody bring me a drink and a whoopee cushion."
Chum who sent it, crossed out "seeking wisdom" and wrote "saving the world."

  10. Lovely sentiment. I frame greeting cards as well. The last piece of art I purchased was Prairie Colors by Donna Hanson using the encaustic technique of painting with beeswax mixed with demar resins. I spotted this art piece in a local gallery. When I received my first government pension check, I was determined not to spend it all on fenceposts so back to the gallery I went.

  18. A couple of my favourite framed prints are actually cards from my blog readers. Sometimes they just 'get us' and what we write about don't they. The one thing off my walls that I would save, and luckily it's right near the front door, is my little Welsh wooden gecko.

  20. I remember this card arriving--at just the right moment. Lovely calligraphy and sentiment.

Nothing on my walls that I would save, I'd rescue my dog and myself. The other night, planning ahead if the power failed in subzero windchill night, I only gathered essential for myself and Mo my pug--medications, eyeglasses, Mo's indoor ID tags, etc. [it's best to organize while the power is still on...].

My post has vanished I must have pressed the wrong button. Anyhow I was asking if you had thought about getting a counselor John. Also why not use your blog to tell your marriage story so we can understand and help. Talking about feelings could be a turning point for you. x Angela x
