Scratching an Itch

I had haggis for yesterday’s tea.
Haggis and fried eggs
Bloody lovely.
Sainsbury’s had haggis on special offer
Like you do.

I have lots to say today but can’t quite express myself coherently
Do you ever get like this?
My head is filled with thoughts of travel, and change and movement and I feel unsettled
But before anyone commiserates, I don’t feel bad , just a bit restless.
That feeling you used to get the night before school. Or the day before an interview , or a holiday .
Waiting for something to happen

Later this week I’m off to comic com with Leo. It’s a weekend which will be filled with extremes , his superhero's and my My Fair Lady .
This will scratch some of the itch, I suspect
I’ve ordered my walking Dead t shirt for the day, knowing I can’t overshadow his superhero outfit.
We’ve organised for sushi too in between geeks and has-beens.

I’ve been talking about going to Berlin with a friend and am suddenly sick of the fantasy of the proposal

Time for action dearhearts
It’s now a time for action with many things

  1. I absolutely cannot express myself coherently today but that has more to do with it being the "day of independence" here in the US when women have just been told that no, we do not have independence than anything else.
But we too are about to travel and I am hoping that it gives me some perspective even if it does not scratch the itch.

    2. America has given too much freedumb to the right wing while stripping legitimate liberties from the rest of us

    3. Exactly. I always find it interesting that it is always the folks screaming loudest about THEIR rights who want to trample all over everyone else's.

  2. I buy both Sainsbury's and Waitrose Haggis (in plastic wrapping), and I also have a good supply of Grants Haggis in tins that I buy online in packs of 6. As you say, some Haggis and a fried egg for breakfast, totally delicious!

  3. I've been feeling that I've forgotten to do something, but can't think what. A time of flux and change, I think. Yours is part-time working and starting your counselling course. New horizons. Your last line makes me think you've made some big decisions? xx

  4. Your holiday plans have been ruined more than once lately just as we were all allowing ourselves to get excited about travel. So frustrating especially the last minute flight cancellation. Hope you get chance to satisfy that desire for change very soon.

    2. Haggis without the pluck and with more bits of lamb meat is okay. Here in Ohio and Pennsylvania we have the Amish favorite Scrapple and then here in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Northern Kentucky area we have the much beloved Goetta which was created by the large German population who settled the area. Seldom , if ever, do they add the very strong tasting heart, lungs and liver-the pluck

  6. I think to wake up in the morning and get along just fine with everyday things is ok.

  7. I have days when I sit down to write a blog post and all that comes out is absolute drivel ... the delete button is a good friend.
Any of my regular readers on here will most likely be thinking ... 'she should press it more often'!! :-)

  11. Your trip with Leo will be fun and you will feel better. You are much busier than most people I know and you have such a great circle of friends to do things with.

  13. I find, the general feeling of being unsettled is common these days. The world is in a state of chaos. American shootings are out-of-control; the latest being Chicago. That said, we each have our own little oasis and thank goodness for that. A trip to Berlin sounds wonderful. I'd avoid the airlines as I continue to hear about flight cancellations. Train travel might be a better option.

  14. I'm just getting over Covid... so everything for me right at this moment is unsettled. I can't seem to shift the wet cough; it's playing the devil with my asthma. That said it was only a matter of time before I got it and now I have it's nearly over. Comic con sounds fun. It gives Leo time to spend with you which is great. Sound like you've made some final decisions on something!
