What strange headgear. I wish I could translate what's on them. What is the meaning of the faces on the back? Very odd! Bet that experience wasn't on your bucket list! xx
google says: "they represent a modern tribe, product of a globalized world, they wear dark suits, shoes in which you can see their toes and instead of headbands they wear on their heads an industrial aluminum protective shields."
My husband just said you should have asked the dancers to stand on a beach in a thunderstorm! I do apologise for his weirdness! Hope you're having a great time, and that Ruth's feeling settled. X

ReplyDeleteI hope it didn't rain too much. Looks as though they might drown.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly!
DeleteYou'll have some experiences that you did not plan on.
ReplyDeleteThey look fun. I wonder what those 'hats' started life as?
ReplyDeleteThey look like cut in half aluminum beer kegs.

ReplyDeleteTin Foil Hat Troupe.
ReplyDeleteIn the rain with those hats they feel must have felt like they had buckets their heads - and it looks like they really almost did.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very diverting, something definitely different.
ReplyDeleteDon't think I would enjoy this part of the retreat but I could be convinced otherwise perhaps? :)
ReplyDeleteI think that this is one of those acts which require an explanation at the beginning of the act. I am curious about the writing on those collars.

The dance seems to be one you really have to surrender yourself to. Your visit is good in many different ways. Hope Ruth is finding some peace there.
ReplyDeleteI feel a peace in your blog posts too John - I am sure it is helping you.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! What do their hats say? Something about the body, death, and being "mestizo," I think?
