Am I Too Old For Snoopy?

On my days off Dorothy gets me up around 8 am for a wee.
We then race each other back to bed for a lie in, where I know she will eventually wake me again around 10 30 or earlier depending on her pent up excitement pre proper walk.
This morning the Church bell woke us both.
At first I thought that there must be a funeral being called in but being Wednesday morning I then realised that is was a Church service in progress.
Someone inexperienced was pulling the bell, the bell that was rejuvenated by the Community Association and last rung by Hattie and myself during the clap for carers evenings….
Anyhow the bell rang around a dozen times setting off the lonely hound that lives in a kennel on London Road.
He howled like a banshee for ages
I walked the dogs and was stood drinking a bucket of coffee on the patio when Church service was over
And Mrs Trellis appeared sans bobble hat.
She wore her best church coat.
The red one.
She looked at my T shirt and told me I looked cold and when I moved my arms added brightly
“ Aren’t you a little old for snoopy?”
I suddenly had a Carrie Bradshaw moment when I looked down an realised I was wearing my snoopy T shirt.
“ I don’t know , am I too old to wear snoopy? I asked and she thought for a moment
A little” she replied seriously .

I’ve kept the T shirt on.
I know, I’m a real rebel bitch
I’m meeting my friend Colin for lunch at Porth Eirias too
But I may wear a jacket
Over snoopy of course.

  3. Age is how old you feel. Some days I'm 8, others, 80. Today I'm about 20, but my knees might disagree when I move! Wear your Snoopy T with pride. At least there's no gravy stains (that I can see). lol xx

  5. The answer is no. Snoopy is ageless. Also, the subtle rainbow? Win.
And I could just imagine that lonely hound that lives in the kennel...

    XOXO

  7. Snoopy is timeless and ageless. I'd wear it very happily, though probably not today as it's very cold over here.

  8. Bah! You are never too old for Snoopy or anything else you enjoy. When you give into that way of thinking, you truly become old. I am proud of all of my Cartoon and Superhero shirts, my comic and toy collections, my coloring books, and legos, and everything else I have continued to enjoy since childhood. Keep on wearing who and what you want!

  10. Are you too old for Snoopy? Well, that depends upon whose approval you're seeking. Don't worry about getting a consensus.

  12. It's a little too straight for HM Colin. Surely one of your big gay rainbow t-shirts would be more suitable x

    1. My favourite snoopy quote
"A dog's life is a lonely life. Cats hate us, horses step on us, wild animals despise us.

  19. Never too old for Snoopy. Age is a state of mind and if you feel young, celebrate it. Life is too short! xx

  20. I'm with Pattypan ... age is a state of mind. The tee would not have been in adult size were it not to have been made for adults, but perhaps she would have preferred one of your Walking Dead tees.

  26. The only people too old for Snoopy are the ones who ask others "aren't you too old for Snoopy?". And I dare say those are the people who need Snoopy the most.

    1. I wonder if Mrs T had second thoughts about her comment. Sounds like something my mother might have said. Actually, she would have said, “Take that ridiculous T-shirt off. What are you, a child?” Anyway, Snoopy is at least 53 years old himself.

  33. Nope you are embracing your inner child. I often go to farm for chicken food. My hubbie comes to look at the horses and hes 66!!! I shriek chickens if I see some in a garden and kitty if I see a cat. I am nearly 60 so well past childhood. Who gives a f--k?
