Strange Light

The light is strange this afternoon.
It’s not cold, but it is slightly misty with the promise of cold and the view from the cottage feels almost ethereal .
The village is almost circled by a curve of low hills, with the open valley end dropping away down towards the sea miles to the North West.
The hills are now topped with a mist through which the low sun is shining and the sky is glowing with a strange warmth.

Bwthyn y Llan’s limestone walls drink up the sun too and the cottage glows with a life of its own.
It faces south, so is used to the sun.
The cottage is best viewed in warm sunshine.
As I stood up in the churchyard looking west, Irene bleated a short hello from the livery stable fields beyond the green brown hawthorn hedges.
I am home

  4. Interesting photos. I like them. It doesn't look or sound like it will be a frosty night unless all the low cloud clears later. Quite different for you not to include a dog.

It has been so wet and glum for months in West Wales that the sun itself seems a strange light.

  12. We commented on the light over the sea yesterday. The sea was the strangest but very beautiful shade of pale milky blue and the horizon was a soft misty glowing pink fading to soft yellow. The sea is usually steel grey.

  13. A peaceful, contented blogpost. If only Paddy O'Micron would keep out of the bowl in which Trelawnyd sits.

Lovely pictures and I love the ethereal light in the top photo. Hope the sunshine warms the interior of the cottage, too, especially if the fireplace isn't fixed yet.
Where is the book taking you and your imagination?

    Hugs!
