The Last Song

Dorothy was quite badly behaved for my sister over the weekend . Picking fights with her dog, peeing and pooing. Demanding attention . I doubt she will be asked back.
High Maintenance is the phrase she used.
Hey ho.
Its a soup day today .
Cold and bracing
Butter bean, chorizo and garlic soup , extra thick by adding a potato… is heating in the slow cooker

I shopped, caught up with Nu by phone and listened to the new ABBA album in the car

Comic con and London seem a long way away today .

  1. My Thatch is quite a hand full too John-he has been my boy for over 3 years but he is certainly a handful I've had 4 private sessions and 12 one to ones with a dog charity but they did say there was only so much they could teach me-It's really mainly u turns if the darling gets too stressed-she said a lot of people would have returned him-previously he lived outside with lots of other dogs and fed scraps-He only had one stone for a toy I believe as he has a favourite one which he found with a face that he hides-he wees and poos regularly indoors-bless him-he is soo embarrassing though x

  2. Sounds like Dorothy was suffering from separation anxiety and was acting out! Sad that she is so anxious when away from you!
I made a delicious butternut squash soup on Saturday! So yummy!!

  4. Good to read you much more up beat John - you have had a rough few weeks with various ailments but you really sound as though you have recovered.

  5. Poor Dorothy was obviously missing you and getting stressed. I do hope your sister will have her back again, though. You made some lovely memories in London. I'm sure that won't be the last outing with your nephew. xx

She did keep insisting on sitting on my knee though while looking down at Ozzy growling at him..its no wonder he snapped when she tried to get into bed with us ! Poor girl ...hard to know what to do with her x

    2. I think most dogs and cats do that ... They have to keep tabs on what we are doing and don't you dare shut the door! LOL My Pug and then my Maine Coon cat all had to watch me pee or whatever!

Sorry to hear that Dorothy wasn't a stellar guest but know from her history it's not all her fault. Some of us cannot dump damaging history be they human or dog.
Perhaps you'll have Leo to the cottage some time in the future or plan some other wonderful meet-up elsewhere.
    Love the Abba song! Ta.
Am glad you're home and are making wonderful soup today. Wishing you a good recovery from a busy weekend!

    Hugs!

  9. It's a shame Dorothy isn't an easy guest. I actually love the new ABBA album. I have listened to it quite a few times and have found that it has grown on me.

  10. Tony bought the ABBA album for me last week and it's absolutely gorgeous. I do love the track you have shared.

  11. It sounds like Dorothy might need someone to come stay with her at your home. In her own home with her person, I suspect she would be okay. Poor Dorothy has a previous life and this life is potentially responsible for her issues. ABBA produces good music.

  12. Thanks for the music, but not ok with the behavioral report. Have you got someone who could come in?

  13. Poor Dorothy! She was obviously upset with your absence! I haven't listened to the new ABBA yet. I'm afraid to be disappointed.

  14. Oh dear ☹️ Poor Dorothy, she is an anxious girl. I’m sad she was a difficult guest too, your sister can’t have had a relaxed time with her there either. I’m glad the London trip was otherwise a success.
