Applause, applause!! Might you come across the pond to tidy, clean, dust, and control my home? Pretty please! Your home looks so very inviting and the fur babies clearly appreciate your diligence.
In all of my 66 years and more in which I have visited many houses (sometimes even by by invitation) I don't think I have ever seen a washer anywhere other than in a kitchen, and I cannot imagine anywhere more convenient to have one. Not that I even know how to use our one, mind you. I do know how to find beer in the fridge though.
I leave the lights on in the front room so it doesn’t look empty The dogs are always at trendy carol’s so there is only a welcome from Albert who stands on the kitchen wall waiting for a head rub
I envy the way homes on your side of the world have their laundry facilities on the main floor. Here most of ours are in the basement, which means up and down stairs a bunch of times when doing all your laundry in one day. My knees are fine but basements are chilly and and I love homes with main-floor facilities... always a plus when looking at real estate. My taller half is, besides an organic farmer, a general contractor who can do all the construction work required to build and renovate a home. But I've yet to convince him to move our basement laundry to the main floor. Hmmm ... maybe with *his* bad knee, it's time I left more of the laundry to *him* to do. Hee! Actually he has good reasons not to put our laundry on the main floor (to do with drainage and access, blah blah blah) but ... still ... I dream. -Kate P.S. I love to see the interiors of other people's homes. Thanks for that.
I love these pictures! Your cottage is so warm and comfy! I do love the blue bedroom and your office too. That is a wonderful picture of Albert! Thank you to Rob for asking for these pics and thank you to you, John for sharing them!
You are welcome Bonnie I am a lurker from the US a bit of a fan of the self effacing Mister John who is more Sexier than he realizes I have followed since his retirement and sad divorce and have loved his slow sad reamergence into the light again
What an interesting, character filled home. Just like its owner! I noticed the multi box, that solves a problem of houses built before electricity was a thing! Thank you for showing us, and including our favourite Dorothy and Albert.
Being a nosy so and so I love seeing inside other peoples houses. I get to steal so many ideas from it. Love seeing Albert relaxing. Can I employ you for cleaning purposes....you do such a good job.
Thank you for the pictures of your lovely home, I think it is a perfect combination of old and new. And so perfectly clean and tidy!I love to see how people live and always take walks in the evening along the streets when I can look inside the houses because the lights are on but the curtains or blinds not shut yet. You have such an eye for beautiful pieces of pottery. We really loved looking at your lovely cosy home and felt it was worthy to be featured in one of those glossy house magazines. Wendy (Wales)
I don't know that I've seen your bedroom all put back together after it was painted navy blue. I have to say, initially I thought the color too dark, but combined with the white, it makes all the details of your space stand out. I like it a lot.
Another thing I really like a lot is your reclaimed cabinet. It fits perfectly under the stairs. You have a knack for combining colors. Very nice. So many things vying for interest, yet nothing is overwhelming and the effect is not 'busy' at all.
All looking clean, tidy and cosy. Enjoy your evening, you have a lovely home to return to. xx
ReplyDeleteI left the lights and heating on, and didn’t get home until almost midnight , it was lovely to see everything so cosy

Yes Gay Rob’s comment amused me,
DeleteI've always envied the British for their "utility rooms". Would love to have one on the main floor. A cozy cottage in Wales. What could be nicer?
DeleteWhat a charmer of a house. I especially love the yellow pillow with the purple dog.
