The new build behind the cottage has been rather noisier than usual. They are digging out the garden with a mechanical digger at the same time as hammering the roof on a kennel block.
I took the dogs to meet Chic Eleanor
We walked down to y shed ( The Shed) and drank good Italian coffee on the terrace .
It was nice to see her.
She hugged my arm as we walked and called me her darling John
A happy romance between friends xx
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant, if noisy, morning and a treat to join up with dear, Chic Eleanor!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see The Shed isn't a modern monstrosity that would be at odds with the village.
It's a glorious sunny 25*C here this morning and hints of autumn are in the air.
Hugs!
It was an old train she'd. It now houses a small museum, art shop, local crafts and Cafe
DeleteY Shed looks interesting...if they allow dogs, where is it?!
ReplyDeleteThey are completely dog friendly
DeleteHope the noise it short-lived. There's been someone building 2 new houses up the road from me for about 2 years, and my summer has been punctuated with the "beep-beep" of diggers reversing, and builders shouting to one another. A coffee and stroll with chic Eleanor sounds lovely. The little things we've all missed. xx
ReplyDeleteI’ve missed hugging
DeleteI have got completely used to living inside my shell like a snail. Something to do with my age I suppose. As long as I chat to you all and speak to atl least six people each day I am quite happy.
ReplyDeleteXx you will always have us too xx
Deletethe new building that's being built behind you, is it keeping to the manner of village or is it something totally different? have you met the people that are going to be living in it?

DeleteChic Eleanor is a darling herself. So wonderful to have friends like her, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAnd I don’t exaggerate about her either x
Delete. . . .you're my darling John too you know - and a lot of others I'm certain!!! Tell Chic Eleanor I hope to meet her some day and we can talk about pashminas and such!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteI do love the idea of a friend who, sincerely, called me my darling.
ReplyDeleteIt is very sweet
DeleteYou very fortunate man! I was in Trelawnyd over a weekend a couple of weeks back - but noticed you were on a run of nights. Hey ho. I haven't come across y Shed on the walkway at the Dyserth end - sounds interesting. Building work - when I was a student nurse in the '80s on nights, some bright spark decided to replace all the windows in the nurses home... couldn't sleep - I'd have made a great extra for the Walking Dead...
ReplyDeleteNext time give me a bell, I will make you a coffee
DeleteAh, the joys of summer. Builders banging away, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers. Have your ear plugs ready.
ReplyDeleteI know someone like your friend, too many Darlings and affected movements with the hair and pashmina. I'm sure when she's home alone she burps and farts out loud like the rest of us. It's all an act.
ReplyDeleteOh dear-most clearly you are jealous of someone Delightful
DeleteChic Eleanor sounds absolutely adorable...in my head I visualise her like Angela Snow in The Darling Buds of May...I may be miles off, but it's a pleasant image.
