The cottage is filled with the heady smell of banana loaves baking.
I’m preparing a few cakes for the village bingo night which is raising funds for the Church.
I will leave them on the kitchen wall to be collected tomorrow.
Banana loaves take at least an hour to cook.
So as I’m waiting, I’m catching up on jobs and am pottering
I filled a cheap planter with delicate violas, and filled the hanging basket by the front door with the remainder.
The local news is full of the fact that several of the Llandudno goats have got themselves stranded on a Rocky outcrop by the town.
I will watch this story with interest.
The weather is so so today and I’m contemplating what I’m going to do with the rest of my day.
Apart from my ABBA gift I will leave you with this photo
I took it on my way back from London
I’d love to know his story
Lovely weather this afternoon , so we all went to Colwyn Bay Promenade and shared a panini .
Long walk included a visit to the=newly completed 130 foot truncated pier.
Hope the goats will be ok!! x
ReplyDeleteI’m sure they will be fine
Deletewere the goats rescued? a monk with an iphone. i guess he's in a liberal order.
ReplyDeleteNot a silent one lol
DeleteI saw a presumably straight boy in a frock last week while eating a sandwich in a park and here is another dude in a frock. I prefer the guy I saw. His frock was pretty and frilly and was complemented by his healthy head of pink and purple hair.
ReplyDeleteI’d love to wear a frock in hot weather
DeleteYou wouldn't be leaving loaves on kitchen walls here, it's raining cats and dogs. The monk is picking up his messages from God.
ReplyDeleteI like that he had a new iphone
DeleteReally hope the poor goats are rescued before a high tide.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the music! Great to hear the real Abba back together, making songs with meaningful lyrics.
By the looks of them , they are the older, more experienced goats and not the silly youngsters
DeleteThe ones on the rocks, or the ones on the stage?
DeleteThe mountain rescue, lifeboat and Rspca should join forces and swiftly rush to save the lives of those poor goats who are in a desperate situation-if they are seen to do nothing and allow them to die the World news will go mad x
ReplyDeleteIt’s all in hand flis I think
DeleteGoats will probably find their own way xx
DeleteI think the Monk has decided to leave his job at the local council in search of a more meaningful life unencumbered by a restricted lifestyle and twoddle x
ReplyDeleteI think he was going back to a local monastery , a few miles from Trelawnyd
DeleteI bet your home smelled yummy with the banana bread baking! xx
ReplyDeleteAnd I didn’t eat ANY of the cakes
DeleteThey will save the goats wont they? I remember many years ago, hurtling through the back roads in Scotland. When out of no where I saw 3 men dressed in orange robes. They were walking back to the Buddhist monastery near Langholm. It was the strangest thing. Miles of pine forest and then a scene that could have been in Thailand, with monks wandering along the road.
ReplyDeleteThat's Samye Ling, not fat from me. If you ever get the chance to visit, you must - one of the most beautiful places in the country. I had my first chai latte there in the tearoom ,made by a monk. I could live there :)
Deletehuh - should read far ofcourse, sorry.
DeleteYes the goats will be fine
DeleteHi MrsL I also live not far away. This was the first time I had ever driven near there. If and when they reopen Samye Ling, you need to go and have a hot chocolate made with coconut milk it tastes like bounty bar and they have a huge chocolate vegan cake that is like the one death by chocolate. You cant eat it all the slices are massive!
DeleteDo the RNLI rescue the goats up there? They've been out for plenty of idiots here.
ReplyDeleteThey’ve been involved in making a straw bale bridge for the group today
DeleteI noticed on Breakfast Weather this morning that East Anglia was set to get the worst of the weather. Seems from Rachel (above) that they were right. Just drizzle here so far.
ReplyDeleteThe sun was a welcomed friend today
DeleteRather than contemplating what to do, why aren't you zooming back to Llandudno in your cape and tights ready to rescue the goats? Is it a plane? Is it a bird? No! It's SuperJohn!
ReplyDeleteI don’t swim well
DeleteMy active wildlife would take the banana loaves pronto. The modern monk is pursuing his dream while very connected on his i-phone. Those poor stranded goats. Hopefully, help is on the way.

DeleteThose banana loaves look yummy, good job I don't live near you - I'd be VERY tempted!😋 Love that pot, the violas will brighten your doorway. I hope the goats get rescued or swim to safety - I assume goats can swim? xx
ReplyDeleteThey swim well….I’m sure they will be ok
DeleteA wonderfully mixed bag, indeed! Oh, to smell the lovely fragrance of banana bread as it bakes. Hope only the correct person collects it from the kitchen wall.
ReplyDeleteI'd not heard ABBA's new song - ta!
Oh, dear, hope the goats have been rescued or that they can swim to safety.
The photo of the monk is priceless!
Lovely violas, too.
Another day in paradise for you. :)
Hugs!
Nice additional photos showing your afternoon activities in shadows. Love the railing on the new pier.
DeleteWe have a panini maker so can fix paninis at home. Yum!
Hugs!
I treated us all to a cheese panini shared three ways , the diners watched Mary’s impeccable manners with amusement
DeleteI heard the ABBA song on the DAB radio and walked straight over to see who it was, although I knew really. It must feel great for them to be singing together again after all this time. And aren't those avatars fantastic. I want one.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s lovely they are together again and have obviously enjoyed the experience
DeleteThe monk is headed for a pilgrim church he heard about in Trelawnyd. And Banana Bread on walls.
ReplyDeletePlease keep us updated about the goats.

ABBA …. Talk about longevity !!!! Pretty brilliant after so long. Your planter looks absolutely beautiful…. I love it. The photograph of the monk is delightful. XXXX
ReplyDeleteHe intrigued me . I had to laugh cos he ran for the best seats on the train
DeleteI like this post.
ReplyDeletePraise indeed from you dear Yael
DeleteThis all made me smile.
ReplyDeleteA pottering post, often like your own
DeleteNot impressed with the Abba song, sounds a lot like they're planning on using it in Broadway musical.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t like it when I first heard it
DeleteBut it’s grown on me
Won't anyone rescue the gots? How terrible.
ReplyDeleteBreads on the outdoor wall? Ants, roaches, birds? After all your hard work? Will you go to Bingo night night, sounds fun.

horrible, so sad.
DeleteHope goats are ok; love the monk photo, but I have a thing about monks. I think it's the peace they exude.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure they will be
DeleteI’m pretty sure he will be a Franciscan friar- they wear brown , and he’s a Roman Catholic (rather than an Anglican) judging by the large Rosary beads. Anglican friars would look similar but I’ve never seen one wearing beads. The beard and phone are optional!!
ReplyDeleteMiss marple x
DeleteI visited a Monastery once and met the person I was in a relationship with great uncle-a monk who had quite a dirty habit(same colour)x
ReplyDeletePs he was a Monsinueur(Camtholic)x
DeleteYou should start your own blog
DeletePlease leave a loaf on my wall - they look delicious!
ReplyDeleteViolas in fall look lovely - unexpected.
I find the 'monk' quite worrying.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a Franciscan habit he is wearing? I think that in some ways monks and nuns are moving very much with the times. But that is funny about him running for the best seats on the train.
ReplyDeleteYour banana bread looks delicious!
I can smell the banana bread from here, I swear!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's not often we see a genuine monk! Those poor goats. I hope they can be rescued. (Or can rescue themselves.)
