A Warning

This lino cut print was left with the neighbours today .
I don’t remember buying it
The invoice was dated a couple of weeks ago.
At 23.43 hours after a night out and boozy dinner with a friend, did the order get registered
Drunk internet buying……
Thank goodness I fucking like it

  6. Not a fan of fish but I love the deep indigo blue and patterning.

OK a disaster purchase: once when I was very upset about a tiff w my now ex DH, I went up to a shop on Madison Ave in the city, after work, and bought about $2000.oo worth of vintage Native American silver and turquoise jewelry. The next day I was appalled. It stood me in good stead tho because later when I got divorced I sold the items on eBay and lived on the proceeds for months.

  7. I should try that. I'm forever seeing things I like, having a think about it and changing my mind. I end up buying very little. Mind you, I'm never drunk either!

  9. Boris Johnson's Great Grandmother was an impulse purchase from a Turkish slave market. Bargain.

  10. Have you noticed that if you hang it upside down, it still looks good?!

  11. The only think I tend to buy when already drunk is more drink... Never a good idea, but it doesn't happen often.

    1. Probably too pissed to type out my credit card number correctly, thankfully. But anyway I am not a "buyer of stuff" other than consumables really. Minimalist me (apart from when hitting the beer).

  13. I like it very much. It must have looked even more amazing after quite a bit of drink. It is always interesting to see the artwork you choose. I always really like whatever I have seen here on your blog.

  14. It's not happened yet, but there's been a lot of near misses and there's plenty of time yet. When I've been drinking I tend to leave comments on blogs and instagrams, saying what I really think. I need a breathalyser on my laptop.
Maybe I can take up your challenge though............. not had a good bevy for ages :-)

  16. It reminds me of a book I read-something about I swim with pyhannas-But it could be at times just go with the flow(or mackerel)-another John caught so many he didn't know what to do)x

  19. Lovely print. Also, the fish print fits very nicely with your other pieces of art. Now you know you make good decisions regardless of the circumstance...

  20. It's very pretty. It reminds me of a incense burner I bought from Target this summer.

I've had a couple of bellinis so shall not comment. Like the fish and they certainly go with the other fishy items in your delightful home. Did they stay with the neighbors? Oops! Commented anyway.

    Hugs!

  26. I’ve heard of drunk-dialing but never drunk-art-collecting. At least we know you have good taste, even when drunk.

  27. Lino printing creates a very special effect that it is hard to replicate with any other technique. I love those fish all swimming west and together.

  28. I don't believe no one has yet said about your unexpected package, and never one not to state the obvious it leaves me to say: there's something fishy going on.

  29. Love it!! I once bought a cello when tipsy. I used to play one in the school orchestra in my teens. I thought it would be easy to pick up again. Turns out not easy at all!!!!

I also bought a tambourine one night, much easier to play! LOL!

I've loved the look and feel of them ever since.
