I hope you soon find your somebody to dance with, John. And yes, wouldn't it have been spectacular if that choir joined in? A missed opportunity there! xx
I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
Yes, one of our favourites. Repost some more of his songs, especially the lovely Handsome Man. This is so much better and more heartfelt than the chart hit version. But then, unplugged versions always are. Try Katie Melua's Diamonds Are Forever.....and you WILL dance with somebody yet again, John. You just have to get past a lot of frogs to reach the Prince.
I didn’t think I’d like the song at this pace, but it’s brilliantly reimagined, and his voice is beautiful. I miss living in a city with a gay men’s chorus. We went to every concert when we lived in DC.
What a fabulous version …. It’s like two different songs. I love the original which makes you want to get up and dance but this is even better. Thanks for sharing. XXXX
Damn you and your blog, you made me cry again........ Most of my life I've sought a man who would dance with me - proper dancing, as opposed to disco/party type dancing. Many years ago I bought a beautiful pair of green shoes in a style akin to those worn by dancers in films - heels, open toed, elegant, perfect dancing shoes. I kept them for many years, in their box with tissue paper and hope. I no longer have them.
That version is far superior to the original, thanks for sharing it x
What a shame he didn't use that huge choir behind him, it would have added another dimension.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cro.
ReplyDeleteMay you find someone to dance with, John.
Hugs!
So do I. (want to dance with somebody)
ReplyDeleteHeart-warmingly lovely - as he is himself.

I've got two left feet, but if he's got patience...
ReplyDeleteHe’s very sweet and such a good gay advocate

ReplyDeleteLovely song...
ReplyDeleteMuch better than the original!
DeleteThat's lovely John and the first time I've actually sat with my eyes closed and listened to the words.

ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard The Turtle Creek Corale? They are in Dallas, and have been singing for 41 years. Also wonderful!
DeleteHugs!
I really dislike the original version but I'll give this a chance. I expect I may well like it if it is less bright.
ReplyDeleteThat was so eerily beautiful. Like all the gaudy is stripped back and there's just the song and the longing. Glorious, thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been nice to hear him duetting with Whitney Houston but of course that will never happen.

Delete"Hips Open"x
DeleteI have always love a more slowed down version of the song; bring out the melancholy.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a fabulous version.
So lovely. Conveys the yearning for contact so well.
ReplyDeleteWe love Matt Alber and this is my favorite version of this song.
