At 8.30 pm Albert followed us for our evening dog walk and was clipped by a blue estate car speeding up the lane towards Cwm, as he galloped for cover. I saw him get lifted into the air
He ran into Graham the shepherd’s field next to Trendy Carol’s
And disappeared
I looked but could find him
Twenty minutes ago he finally walked into the living room with a vague limp and a serious attitude
I’ve checked him and his legs look ok
And he’s now sat on the trendy blue sofa looking majorly pissed off
These animals will be the death of me
So glad he had a spare life!
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Albert! I hope he's OK. xx
ReplyDeleteWon't they just. Thank goodness he came back. PO'd or not.
ReplyDeleteCats have a huge ability to just sort of laugh off what would put the humans among them in a hospital. I think it's called "nine lives".
ReplyDeleteThank goodness. I love reading about Albert and hate to think of anything bad happening to him. Thank you for your continuing good wishes.
ReplyDeleteDid the speeding car even stop? Glad Albert is okay. He's lucky you have medical knowledge or he might have had to be carted off to the vet. Poor Albert, poor John.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he saw him
DeleteWhew
ReplyDeleteWhat a fright for you to see poor Albert get clipped, and I am so glad he walked back to your house and is OK.
ReplyDeleteHow many lives is that now? He looks thoroughly spooked to me.
ReplyDeletePoor baby. I'm so glad he's okay.
ReplyDeletePoor Albert! and you must need a drink!
ReplyDeleteomg! your animals will be the death of ME!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so shocking for you both-you must be all of a tremble-I hope Albert is not feeling too bruised-he is a very loved cat-little darling xx
ReplyDeletePoor Albert and poor you. How frightening.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Not to worry you but keep an eye out for symptoms of internal injuries, won't you? I know you probably are already aware of that particular danger, but ...
ReplyDeletePhew, what a lucky escape!! He looks a bit like he's willing you to exact some kind of revenge for him.
ReplyDeleteWhen you love them, they drive you crazy, because they know they can.
ReplyDeleteDo keep an eye on Albert to make sure he's okay. So very scary for that kitty! He may think twice about going for a walk again!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he is OK, keep both eyes on him. Invest in a shoulder carrier for his evening stroll. Sure that will go over real well!
ReplyDeleteGlad he is home. Very glad.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I hope he's alright with no lingering issues. What a scary event!
ReplyDeleteOh Albert! Poor boy! I know you have said that he always looks somewhat wide-eyed and startled, but he seems even more so in that picture. I think a wee bit of tuna might be in order. I hope he is alright in the end. -Jenn
ReplyDeletePHEW!!
ReplyDeleteGoodness! Am glad Albert is okay, if miffed and limping slightly. Good you could check Albert with your nursing knowledge and careful hands. As you know, Albert may be sore in the morning or right as rain, cats being cats. How many of those 9 lives does Albert have left?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Glad Albert is OK.
ReplyDeleteHow frightening for Albert and you both. Isn't this the second time he has been hit by a car? I do hope he is okay. He will be quite sore for awhile I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSome of our cats used to follow us for a walk and although the lane was very quiet, I could never relax until we got home again.
ReplyDeletePoor Albert - I imagine he will be feeling sore today, but hope he is OK.
How horrible for both you and Albert. Such a shame as he likes being part of the group walk. Our animals bring fear and grief sometimes as well as sheer joy. Hard to know how to protect him as he is an independent soul.
ReplyDelete! ! ! ! I can now categorically state that is is possible to read a whole Blog entry without breathing! Poor Albert - lucky, lucky Albert. Poor you, John. You must've thought the worst - I certainly was. How was your first day back John?
ReplyDeleteOh, what a relief. Which of Albert’s 9 lives was that?
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Albert. I hope he's OK. x
ReplyDeleteOh my godness....why do stupid drivers always think they can race around everywhere?...I hope Albert is okay 😢 and you too?...x
ReplyDeleteOh no, what an awful night you (and Albert) must have had! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible fright for you, I'm so glad that Albert is ok x
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor Albert. I love Albert …. Will you take him to the Vet just to check ? XXXX
ReplyDeleteDid you check your own blood pressure?
ReplyDeleteOne of those wretched heart-in-mouth moments which would mark many of us for life. As for the lucky [again] Albert, he's almost certainly long since forgot about it - and if his limp is persisting I doubt he'll make an association with what happened. Even so let's be thankful for his surviving with what sounds like a relatively minor mishap, we fervently hope.
ReplyDeleteVery lucky survival Albert ((0))
ReplyDeletePeople do speed through villages..some do WELL over 30mph up our road and we have speed bumps...
When that happened to our tuxedo cat poor sod had a dislocated hip and perforated diaphragm. Wonder she survived but she did. I'm still recovering from the blasted bill
ReplyDeleteOh my, just read what happened to Albert!
ReplyDeleteOnce again . . poor dear!
Nine lives!
Poor Albert hope he is ok xx
ReplyDeleteCould you request from the Highway department a sign for the road such as"slow down"or"pedestrians crossing"-you could say that you have been very nearly killed on several occasions and there are others who had narrow escapes from speeding motorists also x
ReplyDeleteWow I just read that holding my breath.. poor Albert...one lucky little boy. Glad he is ok.
