It’s a glorious day, bright and sunny.
I haven’t done a great deal but wash my new duvet set that Dorothy thoughtfully pissed upon last night and pot up the little french half hanging basket by the front door which had dried out in the dry spell we’re having.
Sea Pinks or drift as it is also known as, wasn’t my first choice for potting up but I think they will look nice flanked by simple white violas , against the old stone of the cottage walls.
I repaired my gargoyle , fixing him back on his plinth with some fixative and spoke to Mrs Trellis as I brushed the paths free of blown rubbish.
“ I knew you were in “ she observed “ there is washing on the field gate”
Dorothy dozed on the lawn as I watered the planters
And as she looked so comfortable I laid down next to her in full view of passers by and promptly fell asleep
I'm planning you have had a nap in the sunshine. Your brain Will be fresh and perky for tonight's quizzing. I am expecting you to score magnificently for me x
ReplyDeletePlanning??? = Pleased
DeleteI had another sleep in the armchair too
Deletea boy and his dog in the sunshine! you both needed that nap!
ReplyDeleteI’ve slept far too much the last threedays
DeleteWhat a wonderful picture. I have wonky knees. Sometimes when I get down to do some weeding and garden work it's hard to get up. The dog loves it if I stretch out and lay on the grass with her, then she can help me up, haha.
ReplyDeleteI often cloud watch but today I fell asleep before I could start
DeleteI bet that felt so good with the sun warming you as you napped! Sweet basket of flowers!
ReplyDeleteI woke up dribbling
DeleteThere's nothing like a nice nap in the sun!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice
DeleteHow is Dorothy these days?
ReplyDeleteShe’s still difficult at times. I bought a new duvet and cover yesterday and Bess use it was new she peed on it
DeleteSometimes an Enigma machine would help with deciphering your posts. I have however figured out that "Bess use" probably means because (or should I say pro able jeans because?)
DeleteYou've accomplished a lot. Washing, potting up plants, fixing the gargoyle. Our fur babies do create work. My Caesar bumped my gargoyle off his perch and I had to patch and glue the broken parts. The quiz should be fun. You and Mave are the winning combination!
ReplyDeleteWe came forth last week
DeleteMeaning "fourth"? Or did you really come forth, as in advancing with all guns blazing?
DeleteHow nice to have a lovely day to potter about in the garden and even to have a nap in the sunshine. As you apparently know, everyone should keep their gargoyle in good repair!
ReplyDeleteHope your team does well in tonight's contest. Mave is counting on you.
Hugs!
Isn’t he just lol
DeleteIt really doesn't feel like being in Wales in this weather. Enjoy it while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can’t remember the last time it’s been as fine without rain
DeleteHow lovely to sleep in the sun next to Dorothy, with the sun warming your bones. xx
ReplyDeletePS i posted some ear savers to you earlier in the week. Hope they get to you! xx
Thank you hooker
Delete( not a phrase you hear often )
That's a funny mental picture of you stretched out sound asleep on the grass with Dorothy. I imagined Mrs. Trellis helpfully phoning the police to report a murder because your washing was still out on the field gate
ReplyDeleteLawn naps are so good.
ReplyDeleteEither you didn't have any passers by when napping or those that did pass by didn't care enough to check if you were ok.
ReplyDeleteThey probably heard me snoring
DeleteOhhh the doggie!!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
I love your gargoyle and the half hanging basket, very pretty. Dorothy looks very contented.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your gargoyle...looks just like my Turbo in hot pursuit of a pheasant! Hope you are not working tomorrow and can have another day to enjoy the sunshine and recover some energy. x
ReplyDeleteDorothy looks well comfy-little treasure. That is a great gargoyle John-I pass 3 dragons I think they are in various poses on a house roof regularly.A manufactured dragon who looks to the sky with an expression of disdain-not sure why sits near my back door for protection from negative vibes x
ReplyDeleteA nap in the sun sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI love gargoyles and yours is wonderful! Our pets usually do know how to get comfy for a nap and the warm sun always helps. Good luck tonight!
ReplyDeleteA man after someone's heart. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love gargoyles. Yours looks like a dog fixated on a rat hole.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone who finds it easier than you to drop off in the sun - and don't go blaming Dorothy.
ReplyDeleteHee hee hee Weaver..you sly girl.
DeleteIt sounds (and looks) like a wonderful day.
ReplyDeletePassable
DeleteWhen we had a house in the country I’d be tending to my flowers then plop down next to our mutt, Maggie for a bit. Maggie passed a year ago at the age of 15 and I can say lying next to her in the sun is one of the things I miss most about the old girl.
ReplyDeleteGlad I’m not the only one
DeleteIt looks and sounds like paradise. Glad no one phoned emergency services when they saw you sprawled alongside Dorothy.
ReplyDeleteI was snoring too much x
DeleteI adore looking at your cottage and the fabulous garden ! What a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteXx
Deletenow that is a proper gargoyle!
ReplyDeleteOK that's it...we MUST have a gargoyle at the farm!
ReplyDeleteThat pic of Dorothy is wonderful.
That's WONDERFUL! Taking a nap with your dog! Love it!
ReplyDeleteA nap in the sun with a dog is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Fixing with fixative? I wish my job was so easy to explain.
ReplyDeleteAh, spring!
ReplyDeleteI used to lie on our fields with our orphan goats and cloud watch in the sun. The were so curious they would snuggle up to me and nibble my ears. I expect a dog would just be snoring! Anyhoo fabulous looking day for it and smashing gargoyle... I need one but wouldn't know where to put it in my 70's style property.
