My Girls

One girl asleep sat up on my trendy couch
Another, sat carefully on my knee, watching the world
My girls....
I wouldn’t have enjoyed Bodnant Gardens without my Mary today
And tonight, I wouldn’t have laughed out loud spying Dorothy asleep with her head propped up at the strangest of angles.
These two have carried me throughout the last year of lockdown , and have lifted my spirits through the year before that  without even trying..... without them
I doubt I would have made it........so easily .....

My girls......

  5. Couldn't be without my two girls. They are so different in their personalities and suited to different outings. For all that though I still get an attack of the guilts when I take one without the other:}

  7. My dogs are each quite embarrassing in public-either noisy, refusing to walk nicely, very excited, taking a dislike to another, overly friendly etc-They have very strong opinions on most things. Some people look annoyed, and some sympathise-a man came over today to stroke my tich and said I do admire you which was lovely and made me quite teary x

  8. As needy as my dogs are (rescues), I also would have gone bonkers through lockdown with out them. People now look for them in my conference calls and there are some that even ask for them to join in so they can see how
nonchalant one can be when a certain person is talking in their monotone voice. When they speak she stares right into the camera, snorts and then throws her head back as if to say "peasant be gone!". Everyone has noticed and finds it hilarious. I did not train her. I also think their needs to be some form of add on to a desk chair where you can bolt on an extra seat or platform for needy dogs or cats who need to be as near as possible. There is one lady on my conference calls her cat lays over he shoulder like a baby being burped, he swipes at her if she tries to move him when she is sitting down! lmao p.s. Dorothy looks happy like that.

The daffodils are wonderful. I guess dogs have to be on leashes so they don't go crashing through the blooms.

  10. Wasn't it Mary that sat on my lap and let me fuss'n'love her when I came to yours?

  11. Our dogs and cats give unconditional love and never judge. This makes them very special. As you say, even more special in times of lockdown.

  12. Your girls are so easy to love... even Diva Dorothy. Oh how I wish I could sleep like that (in any old position). That photo of Mary is exquisite. A stunning view that wouldn't have been the same without her in the picture.

Lost my mom in February, my cats have been right with me. My one got on my chest, laid there and purred. Balms to our hearts. Your girls are so sweet and love their dad.

How sweet they are! Love how Dorothy scratches an itchy chin with such minimal effort on her part. :)
    Well said, Ms Moon!

    Hugs!

  18. Lovely photos, both of them. finding our way through this last year has meant grabbing whatever life raft floated nearby. So much has changed - including our priorities. We used to look forward to each overseas Conference, or trip, but now, I'm content being safe and well.

  19. When (if) you're feeling low, just stroke a dog for a minute or two, and all becomes good again. A faithful dog is the best therapy there is.

  20. Here in Italy we are still in a strict lockdown. Instead of getting easier it seems harder and harder especially as there doesn't seem to be any improvement. Your dogs are lovely and such good company. Wishing you a peaceful, safe and freer Easter. Ro xx

  21. I laughed too at the photo of Dorothy. Oh, to be able to fall asleep so easily! As others have said, you're all good for each other. I saw on the news that animal shelters are now being inundated with pets no longer wanted, as lockdown eases. So sad. I can't imagine doing that. It's like getting rid of one of your children. xx

  22. Your title echoed with me because my girls are my chooks. They too have helped me through this last year and I wouldn't be without them. They all have individual little characters and are all giving me lovely eggs too which is a bonus. Our pets mean so much to us that we can't imagine life without them. Both photos are lovely.

We lost our Springer Spaniel in October after a very difficult year for him. My husband was so devastated, looking for hours on line at the dogs at the rescues, missing him terribly. We decided to rescue again, a senior smaller dog - we are older and a shorter term commitment made sense. Well, she's a 10 year old beagle, sweet and loving, and the best behaved dog ever.

  27. Many days the only person I talk to is my elderly cat, Pierre. He has kept me from going completely bonkers this year.
