I’m waiting for my desk to be delivered.
I have a four hour window, so the dogs have been walked early and with the cottage windows open to the sunny frost, I am sitting on vigil with homemade sourdough eggy bread and my bucket of coffee.
It’s Friday isn’t it?
Oh yes......I’ve got an uncharacteristically busy day.
Desk delivery this morning , then a car park coffee with Chic Eleanor at lunchtime “ Darling John I may even treat myself to a very naughty donut!” Eleanor texted excitedly.
This afternoon, it’s a team meeting at work c/o zoom which probably will be a bit of a bunfight .
My role at the hospice will change slightly soon as I will be covering our community Hospice @ Home initiative as well as some time in the in patients department.
The staff meeting was my idea.
Tonight is the The Big Gay Quiz .....if I can set up my desk, that’s where I will quiz from
Hey ho.
Sounds like a good day...busy!! Hope the delivery man comes early enough to fit in a walk up the Gop - it's a really beautiful day and after that breakfast, you'll need it!
ReplyDeleteA full and (hopefully) productive day. And the sun's shining, Spring is in the air and you've had your second jab. What could be better? (Apart from the big, brown-eyed Will knocking on your door!) xx
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe you ate all that eggy bread!!! Didn't you say you were on a bit of a diet???
ReplyDeleteI didn’t ....half of it is for lunch with pickles
DeleteYou are brave to have the windows open -- it's chilly out there! Hope your desk arrives and the quizzing goes well.
ReplyDeleteExcept for that Zoom, which could go either way, it sounds to me like an excellent day. I think I’ll go buy some tulips... if there are any. Not so common here.
ReplyDeletethe best part of spring is the first days of cracking open the windows again. i've been sitting next to my open doors in the evenings now with a fire burning in my fireplace and enjoying the fresh air.
ReplyDeleteThose car park meetings with the chic lady may have the village puzzled and gossiping. And that generously egged bread will be egging on the diet to, or will it?
ReplyDelete"too" was intended, of course. I am off to the cupboard of typo shame for an hour.
Deletebusy day for you; LOVE the tulips.
ReplyDelete"Eggy"... so nice to see you use that word. David and I have minor controversies over it's usage. I love eggy things.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a "very good Friday" all round. I had 4 books finally arrive from the UK, went out to look at mattresses and bought patio furniture instead, as you do!!! Good day all round, it's the little things. Piemonte will probably be back in an orange zone but today the sun is shining and Spring is on its way. Have a lovely day and good weekend... Ro xx
ReplyDeleteExcellent day of lovely activities! Here's hoping that yes, you can do your big gay quiz from your new desk.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day ahead, I hope the meeting goes well, oh and I also hope that the delivery of the desk didn't coincide with the one time you dash to the loo instead of watching out of the window!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll need that eggy bread to give you stamina!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to have your new desk arriving today! I hope we'll get pictures. You do have a busy day planned. That is the kind of day that gives you a sense of accomplishment when you go to bed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Friday, full of good food, good friends, meetings, the new desk, and the quiz!
ReplyDeleteDo you have your eggy bread with syrup? In our home, we'd call that French toast and do without the powered sugar.
Enjoy it all!
Hugs!
For lunch with pickles - yum yum!!
ReplyDeleteOoo-eggy bread yummy yum yum-I only recently attempted to cook it and was surprised how tasty it was x
ReplyDeleteA new desk, oh so enjoyable quiz, coffee with Eleanor, a bunfight zoom meeting (do tell?) and your role change at work all sounds good in the world of JG. That eggy meal looks delicious (never considered pickles with eggs).
ReplyDeleteIf that's eggy bread, it's what I know as French toast. Yummy.
