I love this photograph
The character in the blue could be anything...it could be covid, a toxic relationship or just life at its very worst, but we have all, at one time or another, felt it’s pull and experienced it’s draining feeling.
“ She could suck the lifeblood from out of a lemon” was a saying my mother would employ about a negative and chronically pessimistic friend oblivious that she would act the same with confines of her own family
What do you think of when you look at the photograph
Answers on a postcard please
I think of a narcissist-unfortunately I've known more than one and I've learnt to mentally cut their energy supply and watch them shrivel x
ReplyDeleteOoohhh
DeleteCute ... I'm feelin' pretty blue these days. So thanks for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteMassage therapist vs a migraine?
ReplyDeleteThe small consuming the large.
ReplyDeleteA homeschooling boy sucking the very life out of his grandmother.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds as if it is coming from the heart!
DeleteLOL
DeleteEnvironment vs heredity.
ReplyDeleteOne person sucking the very life, energy and hope out of another.
ReplyDeleteThat’s my take x
DeleteThe blue one giving birth to the big one. "just one more big push. You can do it!"
ReplyDeleteI’m loving how different the “ takes” are
DeleteJust did something very similar today in a training session on how to teach "analysis" skills.
ReplyDeleteI actually thought about winnie being groomed by albert when I saw it. I thought it was kind of a sweet image.
ReplyDeleteThe way the blue one has a seal on the other reminds me of.....well, never mind
ReplyDeleteMe kissing my family, whenever we can finally meet again. I'll kiss them so hard. xx
ReplyDeleteI see the red figure 'asking for help' with its eyes, and the blue figure not even looking at what it is consuming.
ReplyDeleteAnother challenge for Morph (a la Tony Hart).
ReplyDeleteTwo blobs of Plasticine with eyes!
ReplyDeleteThe horrible border terrier that attacked my Turbo on Friday...blood dripping from his ear marked our path home. The dog's owner thought it funny.
ReplyDeleteI see my arsehole nipping a particularly large and reluctant turd off.
ReplyDeleteOh no-how distressing for you Mavis-perhaps a nice ripe fig or two may help x
DeleteSomebody I know who is a very "deep" sniffer.
ReplyDeleteThe red thing is silencing the blue thing by shoving its red arm down the blue thing's throat. Lets tackle the blues head on! :)
ReplyDelete"I know you've grown up, but don't leave me!"
ReplyDeleteBlue is smaller and passive, but nonetheless trying to dominate (and drag down) Red. Red looks embarrassed about trying to resist. A great metaphor.
ReplyDeleteJust thought of something else - passive/aggressive?
ReplyDeleteIt immediately reminded me of the story you told last week of Winnie being thoroughly pissed off at being made to walk where she didn't want to go.
ReplyDeleteLooking at it quickly and not taking it in, I first thought it was your contortioned rubber chicken.
ReplyDeleteI see blue as a toddler or teenager sucking the life from red, the parent.
ReplyDeleteLittle Blue 'No..don't go without me...I WANT to be in your gang...honest I do'
ReplyDeleteA leech or tick sucking the blood from its victim, as a metaphor.
ReplyDeleteMy ex-husband.
ReplyDeleteIt's a huge kiss ...he's missed him soo much 😉
ReplyDeleteI think of the Dementors in Harry Potter.
ReplyDelete‘I said blow not suck!’
ReplyDeleteLX
Not sure whether Blue is blowing or sucking and perhaps that is the point. We have the choice of whether to blow life into somebody or suck it out of them.
ReplyDeleteI think blue is trying to help red.
ReplyDeleteControl a person's head, and you can hold them back
ReplyDeleteWell, it made me laugh so not sure it expressed negativity at first glance! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a saying about the type of people you mentioned - I cal them "Emotional Vampires" - they just suck every bit of joy out of you with their constant negativity.
survival of the fittest
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute they can't be negative. The blue one is giving the red one a massive kiss 😘. Viv
ReplyDeleteI see a rude awakening. Someone taking on more than they can chew.
ReplyDeleteGivers and takers. People fall in one or the other category.
ReplyDeleteI love these responses! Some of the perspectives provide a great deal of fodder for thought.
ReplyDeleteOr, could the blue thing be expelling the negative red thing....
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of a three year old, pulling on Mom's skirt and saying, "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom!" Such an energy suck.
ReplyDeleteThis was exactly my take on it, too.
DeleteThe little one is saying, "I want to go home NOW!!!"
ReplyDeleteHugs!
US politics...Blue (Democrats) are restoring sanity by hoovering up the Red (Republican Party). At long last.
ReplyDeleteHa! I definitely know people like that!
ReplyDeleteIf I see any little blue people wandering about I'll give them a wide berth.
ReplyDeleteBlue is pulling orange/red and saying 'c'mon over to the inflating machine and we will be alright'. ' I will pull you, but you've got to push a bit yourself, as you do weigh more than me!'
ReplyDeleteWell you did ask for what we see!
Tess
p.s. Forgot a kiss x
ReplyDeleteSo that's what happened to Morph ... the blue thingy ate him as a starter 🤣
ReplyDeleteSome people are energy suckers....
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the blue character is trying to eat the red character, totally oblivious to its size.
ReplyDeleteI love how many differences there are in what’s happening
DeleteJohn- to me your picture looked like someone trying to get me off my property to do something. Anything. I have become such a hermit.
ReplyDeleteActually I see the wee blue guy blowing up a pink balloon
ReplyDeleteYou specified postcards, but alas, I have none handy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect illustration of how life feels in California, though. Exactly as pictured by those clay figures.
Red must be destroyed for not finding trump's "missing" 11,000 votes in Georgia. Blue represents the radical Democratic socialists who won the election by cheating.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I see the blue as the chemo that's eating each small bite of the Red cancer that's trying to take away the one thing that means the most to me in the world.
