I echo those who drove through winter weather to their work shifts - brrrrr and am glad not to be doing that anymore. Miss the pay and the patients but not the dark commute! Is the day shift at the hospice much busier than night shift? That was the way it was in the medical settings where I worked: neuro floor staff, emergency department, and operating room (known here as surgery!).
Now that looks like a 'John accident' just waiting to happen ... I do hope you have some spare trousers with you!!
ReplyDeleteThat brings back memories. Working from home here. Used as much petrol in the last nine months as I used to use in three weeks!
ReplyDeleteDon't stop suddenly !
ReplyDeleteBack on nights again?
ReplyDeleteNo just going in on day shift
DeleteDrive carefully - bad weather forcast John.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I hope you moved the coffee cup before you took off!
ReplyDeleteYour photo reminds me about what I don't miss about my 50 mile commute to work that started at 4:30 am. Cold and dark. Now happily retired.

ReplyDeleteI've always had problems with drinking and driving.
ReplyDeleteHi-ho, Hi-ho, it's off to work we go! It's a pretty part of the world, even in the dark.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely John-Positively glowing in moonlight happily on your way x
ReplyDeleteThe must-have gadget. A coffee temperature gauge. You seem to like it cold.
ReplyDeleteThat photo totally sums up going to work in winter! Brrrr!

ReplyDeleteNot much fun going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Hope the coffee was still hot when you got there. xx
ReplyDeleteThat photo reminds me of winter early morning drives to work. I don't miss them. Be safe on those cold, wet drives!
ReplyDeleteDont drink n drive you might spill some
ReplyDeleteAre you living life dangerously in 2021??? Driving with coffee cup on the dashboard.
ReplyDeleteHope the shift went well.
Very evocative picture. It's as if Edward Hopper lived into the 21st century and took up photography.
ReplyDeleteThanks xx
DeleteLooks like a wet drive to work. Coffee makes the drive pleasant on a cool, wet day.
ReplyDelete"I'll meet you by the bus stop at 9 pm; bring your own coffee". Kirk was right about Hopper.
ReplyDeleteI remember nightshifts. My cup of coffee was larger than your cup of coffee though.
