Wales in back in a sort of lockdown until Christmas.
Last night I went to The Crown for a pint with Gorgeous Dave and again it was nice to see much of the village there filling the tables for a last time.
The new landlady was sanguine,
Everyone will drive over the border for a drink she said.
I’m not surprised, then the non essential shops were closed in England, the English did the same with us and shopped here.....
Yesterday I caught up with jobs,
Mary had a vet Check up in the surgery car park and I was sure to point Winnie out to the junior vet as she sat smiling in Bluebell’s passenger seat eating the remains of a sausage and egg McMuffin
He smiled genuinely enough.
I posted my traditional Christmas decorations to friends in Australia and Derbyshire and posted my Christmas Cards before dropping off a team gift to a nurse who has just left the hospice through fears of catching covid.
Today I’m off to the cinema
It’s cold today
Keep warm. Feel the hugs from across the sea (and further on a bit). I love your slices of daily life.
ReplyDeleteBanal, but regular x
DeleteBefore I began Doctor Aziba natural penis enlargement Product I measured 4 Inches in erect length, and 3 inches in erect girth. While flaccid I measured 3.4 Inches long. I began using his product, slightly skeptical I admit, and just 2 weeks later I was very happy with my progress. I measured 7.5 inches erect length and 6.5 inches erect girth, and 5.5 inches flaccid length. I was actually quite shocked at the huge gains I’d had, and continued using the product regularly, sticking to the usage schedule rigorously. After about 2-3 weeks I am 8.2 Inches in erect length and 8.1 Inches in erect girth. I am also 7.2 inches long while flaccid. This has had a huge impact on my life, not only has my sex life improved greatly, I feel much more confident and proud. DeleteSounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to the movies since March. I think some of the movie theaters in my area are gonna close indefinitely...
XOXO
There were perhaps 20in the showing
DeleteWell, at least they did have people.
DeleteI'm still weary of indoor dining and theaters. It should be quite the experience, having a full theater almost to ourselves...
XOXO
Well, that was a busy day! I'm actually a bit hazy on whether or not we're still locked down in London. I just go to work and go home, so I haven't had a need to test out the regulations!
ReplyDeleteHopping over the border isn't an option when you're 100+ miles away from it as we are!
ReplyDeleteI am ten minutes away from two other jurisdictions, if I hop across the bridge the casino is open,
ReplyDeleteSo lovely that you are all supporting your local pub ..... we must all try and do as much as we can. Enjoy the cinema ..... what are you going to see ? XXXX
ReplyDeleteA dark gothic and fictitional pieced called Shirley
DeleteBased on the real novelist Shirley Jackson x
i think we are about to shut down again too. they said this morning that by xmas we could have over 330,000 more deaths. and yet, people still are going maskless.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the movies. People here, in the states, continue to fight common sense. It's embarrassing. But then we have a lot of very stupid people living here. Hugs to all of you... Winnie! Such a lucky dog.
ReplyDeleteThank you dearheart
DeleteThought you'd appreciate a recent article in The Washington Post...thought of you when I read it.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2020/12/01/scotch-eggs-pubs-britain-coronavirus/
Thank you Mary.......scotch egg lure is taking over the world x lol
DeleteI always understood that if you have an egg in the fridge, you have a meal. So my vote .. two of them, wrapped in some sausage meat and crumbs is definitely a meal. Cx
DeleteEnjoy your cinema trip. Pouring with rain here - snow up the Dale.
ReplyDeleteThe film wasn’t good, but the trip out was worth it x
Deletebless winnie! at least your country has some common sense.
ReplyDeleteI can't keep up with all the closures and Lockdowns. I'm currently in Tier 3 and keep reading posts and Facebook updates from people in Tier 2 towns and thinking 'what are they doing in restaurants' then I realise. Oh well at least we have shops open again here ... and hairdressers working frantically all the hours God sends to catch up with all their clients. There was a long queue of gents stood in the rain outside the barbers ... saves getting their hair washed I suppose ;-)
ReplyDeleteI ve had to double check the rules today
DeleteIt was very cold this morning! Just had a trip to Ludlow, which was lovely, after months only visiting the closest shops. We went there every week until Covid. Great to feel almost normal in a masked and sanitised way. We had coffee in a cafe, and Turbo enjoyed dragging me to the butchers, where they throw him a titbit...Coronavirus has affected him too!
ReplyDeleteI had a nice coffee too
DeleteThe cinema was a welcomed visit
So your meet up with Nu has been scuppered? Gosh, I'm missing my children and my siblings something fierce too.
ReplyDeleteNo, John is allowed to cross the border to England.
DeleteExactly x
DeleteThe rules change so often I have a hard time keeping track of where you folks are allowed to be, other than home that is.
DeleteEnjoy your film.
ReplyDeleteI did but it wasn’t the one I went to see....I went to see the gothic psychological piece “ Shirley” which I lost my patience with. I came home and watched “ I remember Mama” which was a delight
DeleteCinema? Oh, yes. I remember.....
ReplyDeleteSee above Raymondo
DeleteWho could argue with Irene Dunne
We haven't been to a movie theater in a decade or more since we have DVDs and streaming. I'm also curious about what movie you're going to see. Hummm?
ReplyDeleteNice that Winnie could have a pleasant outing that wasn't physically taxing for her. Nice, too, for her yummy treat from McD's!
Hugs!
I wanted to show her off to the young vet
DeleteOver a year ago I said I thought the world needed a pandemic to eliminate the stupid Trump voters. Unfortunately it didn’t target enough of them. Why are people playing Russian roulette with their lives? Stay home, stay safe, only necessary trips for groceries, etc. essential workers have no choice but to do their best to lessen risk. The rest of us? Why tempt fate. Just how essential is that tattoo, haircut, drink, meal out? People make crazy decisions all the time so why am I surprised that they are still making them.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just needed to unload. Be careful out there everyone.
Common sense all round me thinks
DeleteIf only that attribute were "all round". Sadly it seems less common than its name implies; but...people do differ on what is sensible. In my own perhaps not sensible opinion the risks of Covid are being viewed out of proportion in comparison with a multitude of other risks, health, economic, mental, everyday living... That probably makes me foolish in some people's view. I am used to that though.
DeleteI don't know what it means here but I know we are in tier 3 now-I'm not doing much apart from walking the dogs and today tichy(he is quite leggy)saw the nice lady who gives him a treat and she walked over with her 2 and we chatted-I think and hope it's ok as we were outside x
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky to get a pint. Pubs in my region are allowed to open but are not allowed to sell anything containing alcohol... which I think I will call Kafka's Rule
ReplyDeleteI've just read an article stating the UK will start administering the Pfizer Covid vaccine on Tuesday. I wonder if you'll be on line for it soon?
ReplyDeleteThe elderly first , health worriers second so I’ve heard Alison x
Deletehealth "worriers"? That'll be me then :)
DeleteWorkers lol
DeleteBizarre set of rules, on our local West Country news they said that police would be questioning people going over the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall from Devon about where they were going and for what purpose. Cornwall having more relaxed rules in tier one, Devon being more stringent tier 2. They fear people are going into the pubs to drink without eating a meal.
ReplyDeleteNow given the drink/drive rules (being you could only have one or two drinks at most), combined with payment to go over the bridge, would folk really do that!
Perhaps they are going by taxi or train or have a non-alcohol drinking driver in their party who will be happy to sit sipping a lemonade whilst the drinkers get 'rat-arsed' on booze. Really? I mean really?
Tess xx
Lockdowns are hard. Non-essential business owners will suffer greatly and some sadly will not survive. I just read an article written by Massachusetts General Hospital and it states the newly approved vaccines have been tested on 18 to 65 year old people. Trial data does not include those outside of this range.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being you and being here

ReplyDeleteTo go off topic here, which vets do you use John? I'm rapidly losing faith in mine and need somewhere else to take my whippets. Cheers, Jo and the 2 and 3/4 whippets
ReplyDeleteJo I use pritchards in Denbigh
