  9. It's a powerful reminder that animals are conscious too (or, to put it another way, that we're animals).

  10. It's always a joy to watch animals enjoying a treat. I love watching my chickens stripping their daily greens or going crazy to get at a treat.

I love the way his expression doesn't change as he chomps on those pithy bitter yellow bits of his pommegranate.
One hairy boy l would love a cuddle with, bet he wouldn't cuddle ne back though, 'spesh if he thought l was after his pommegranate.

This video didn't please me, I detest seeing wild animals caged for our pleasure.

All you commenters just see the bigger picture - a highly intelligent sentient being behind bars having every second of their life ogled and manipulated. I don't understand why people think it's acceptable to cage wild animals who should be living in the jungle or roaming the plains. A life in prison. Humans are nothing more than savages inflicting such cruelty.

    1. This is not the case most definitely of Monkey World in Dorset and other various sanctuaries throughout the world-they save and protect many primates

    2. I certainly DONT think it’s acceptable to put animals in zoos unless the zoo is something like Gerald Durrells jersey zoo.
I think most people would accept this
Anon, you missed the nuance of the video
      Watch it carefully
It’s another species , just enjoying a meal
For me it’s as basic and as wonderful as that

You deleted my comment because you wouldn't answer my question which was - the gorilla is in a metal cage, do you find that acceptable?

Therefore I assume you do in fact find it acceptable But you'd already endorsed that anyway by putting up the video in the first place. The metal bars are clearly seen behind the gorilla. You as a human can choose what you want to do and eat, the gorilla, being caged can not. There is also a difference between gorillas in such a situation and gorillas on a reserve, the fact that you think a metal cage is acceptable then you've lost my respect and you've lost a reader.

      Look above you
I have quite clearly stated I do not find zoos acceptable whatsoever ( except for the jersey zoo which is a conservation centre of excellence)
If you have read this blog for any length of time you would realise that animal welfare is my priority
You obviously chose to ignore my comment wanting more of an argument where no argument was needed or offered.
The gorilla may be in a zoo, he may, for all we know be in some rehab facility ...
I am not condoning a caged gorilla, I was just simply celebrating his enjoyment of a piece of fruit. That was my agenda here in this blog entry
How dare you put words into my mouth and say that I think a metal cage is acceptable
      How dare you!
Now fuck off , because I have no respect for anyone who presumes they know what someone else thinks and believes

Baby boomers are either going to die of the corona-virus, or will get abused in retirement homes. And you boomers deserve this for destroying your own children's future, your own children's lives. Look in the mirror. You baby boomers are extremely evil people.

  35. This might be the only pleasure this guy gets living in captivity. (It makes me sad.) It is not pleasant sitting across from a person that eats like a gorilla. Occasional accidents are unavoidable and very much understood...but there is a limit.
