Rubber Chicken Overload

Today is my single day off this week.
I am on a long day tomorrow, then, thank the lord, I am off work for five long days!
I have organised things to do each day
Trendy Carol ( still in her Autumnal hues) will have the girls tomorrow
Today I’ve done some Christmas shopping and had an extra sleep and a long bath with Hawaiian Midnight.
The Rubber Chicken was a great success yesterday.
In fact it was too successful as Winnie has not been as excited since she overdosed on workmen when the new kitchen went in and was found eating chicken crisps in the passenger seat of their works van
She squeezed the friggin life out of it last night, so much so, that I’ve had to ration it from her gummy onslaughts, so sick I was of it screaming around the cottage.
It’s presently cooling off quietly in the only bulldog safe place in the kitchen

  1. You have a lock on your fridge? Posh Twat. Also a mean twat too for torturing your darling girl who needs to relish in the pleasures of her old age. Give it back to her to slowly kill.

Today I had my first walk around a supermarket. Sainsbury's has changed somewhat, although I was still able to sniff out the Ecclefechan tarts. It's going to take time to get used to the kindness of strangers towards their assumed war hero. They may one day even offer to pay for my shopping one day.

  2. Five days off, in a row! What heaven!
I get four every weekend, and oh how I cherish and guard them, and am pained when something (work) interrupts them.
    Enjoy yours! -Kate

I’ve had a blast playing with it

How glorious to have 5 days off to anticipate as you work a long shift tomorrow. My dad always said that anticipation made good events, good foods, or being with good friends even better.

I can see how the ongoing squeal of that chicken could drive you up a wall, so having it in the fridge was a brilliant solution.

    Hugs!

  15. Rubber chicken in the fridge - hilarious. Sounds like Winnie's favorite toy is giving her great joy. It will last a bit longer with intervals in the fridge. You'll have to stock a few back-ups. Winnie can not be denied...

  18. I feel your pain! I have just completed a fortnight of very earlies with just one day of each week. I should be on lates next week and then off for four days but have agreed to go in on earlies for two days as we are short staffed, then back to my late shifts. No wonder I am a poor sleeper! Enjoy your five days of freedom!

  19. Off not of! I blame extreme exhaustion!

  20. I wonder how long it will keep.

That's obviously not a kosher kitchen -- with the chicken rubbing shoulders with the milk.
