Tantrums

The vet’s bill hasn’t arrived as yet
Mary has has a special “ pellet “ of antifungal meds placed inside her ear canal and she is looking brighter for it even though her already selective hearing has become even more selective
A new smiley and rather smarmy vet has started at the practice And he didn’t ingratiate himself with me especially after referring to Mary as looking a bit tatty
“ You don’t look all that spruce yourself “ I countered to little effect.
Never insult the dog of an old queen
We never forget

I’m having a mooch day today which is involving sharing the new sofa with Dorothy ( an activity designed to reduce her anxiety and jealous feelings of the other dogs.

Dorothy was Sooooo pissed off

It’s not working as you can see.
As Mary has just joined us
Dorothy is now  in a foul mood
Foul

I’ve made pesto and sour dough bread this morning and my friend Colin is coming for dinner later which will be nice ( before the trolls say anything he’s in my bubble)

I’ve just listened to the Whitty and Valance Speech on COVID too
Things seem a little glum and I wonder what gems Boris will come out with tomorrow
It feels how we just have to live with COVID now and for some the axe will fall

Still maintaining “Dorothy “ time
I’ve paid bills online, watched the trailer of the Walking Dead finale which airs in two weeks and written some emails
And after Mary went off to mooch elsewhere Dorothy has had me all to herself
And her sulking and tantrums subsided to a peaceful hug and her face on my feet

I need to get up soon
The grass needs mowing

  1. Finally, a picture of you actually getting to use the new sofa! I love Mary's innocent enjoyment in the first picture. She seems to have no idea of Dorothy's emotional strife. It's nice (and necessary) to have those balancing personalities in a family.

  2. Never insult ANYONE'S dog! It's like saying their children are ugly, (which they may be,,,)

  6. That Vet-how very dare he!-how rude but at least you Told Him!Hope the pellet works-I've never had one of those yet.My lily has been racing with gay abandon today for 2 and half hours and I could not run fast enough to keep up.Whilst searching for her a lady phoned and"had found her whimpering and lost"she wanted her owner".Then the signal went but eventually we were reunited but soon after she raced off again and then dashed out onto a main road which in 6 years she has never done.I found her standing in the middle of the road on a dangerous bend with a large truck and car behind stopped and car stopped in oppositie lane.I nearly fainted x

  8. If you're not going to forget the vet's Mary remark let's hope he DOES forget what you said to him - and doesn't take it out on Mary [or whoever].

  9. You are allowed to say what you like about your own pets but, woe betide anyone else saying anything negative about them .... the same as with our own children 🤣
You live a rich and full life John.

It sounds like a lovely day in the cottage! Fresh bread, naps, perhaps grass cutting, and a friend coming for dinner. How sweet it is!

    Hugs!

  12. Have you ever tried calming treats for your temperamental girls? I found a brand that works well w my territorial pug.

Tatty? What does that even mean? Tho maybe she needs a little spa day at the groomer? The groomer can shampoo her from the neck down, and just washcloth her head and face, bec she prob cannot get her ears wet.

    2. I have had very good results with these small chewable treats:
Vetriscience Laboritoories "Composure" versions vary for weight of the dog. My pug reverted to severe separation anxiety as Covid lockdown eased. He was so frantic when I got home he ripped my hands and arms badly, as I leaned down to reassure him. He had had separation anxiety as a puppy but had been trained out of it. He also barks at anyone who passes by my deck when we sit out; he even barks frantically at planes and helicopters. These treats keep him calm and obedient, but not woozy or stoned acting.

I also tried CBD treats, which were excellent for my friend's dog who is fearful of loud noises and other dogs, but they made my Mo too lethargic. The treat below also helped a pug w severe anxiety, another friend's dog. Watch the dose, start w half, etc.

you may have to look for alternative products in the UK. None are expensive, use only as needed, so you can try a couple things. Great results.Good luck. [Amazon]

  16. Maybe you should have taken Dorothy's sibling along with her. If I remember correctly, there were two and you took Dorothy. I know it would have been an extra burden, but the more the merrier!

You might want to try Bach's Rescue Remedy for pets. I don't know if works. The human version works pretty good or at least it does in my mind! :) :)

  24. I never forgot nor forgave a neighborhood acquaintance
who insulted my beautiful Collie, that looked like a giant Hollywood Lassie. She said my sweet, big old Collie had a face like an anteater. I don't even remember what names I called that girl, but they involved ugly, and all kinds of worse names. I think we were about 10 years old at the time. Do you know I saw her at a neighborhood reunion, when we were in our late 40's,I still had not forgotten about her insult to my Collie.
I would much rather my dear old Collie had been at the reunion than her, but he was far, far across the rainbow bridge by that time. Silly thing is, purebred collies do have long noses, but they don't look like ant eaters, but if you simply must say they do, say it with love.

I frequently get cold sores(which lasts for 5-6 days on my lips and its painful both physically and mentally) .. As a bodybuilder, I basically get outbreak due to the daily pressure and heat in the body.. Recently I stumbled upon my salvation. I found a herbal remedy to cure hsv completely, in just 4weeks ..

I got to know about Dr Utu after seeing a lady's testimony online. I reached the doctor and I ordered for herpes herbal medicine. He sent the herbs to me and I started making use of them. In just 2days, the cold sores are cleared. 4weeks after medication, I went to the hospital for test of cold sores and it was completely NEGATIVE.

By following every prescription, i was able to cure my cold sore in less than 4weeks. 100% natural herbs no after effect.

  31. Oh Dorothy's foul mood made me laugh, Bless her, she isn't the sharing sort no matter what activities are trying to help her deal with the Anxiety and Jealousy of it all! *Smiles* That Vet was rude, it's like insulting the appearance of someone's Beloved Child doesn't he know?!! Sadly, I think you are right about us just having to live with COVID now and for many the Axe will fall here, our Administration is ignoring and lying about the whole thing! We've now reached the grim milestone of over 200,000+ lost to it and counting, they fear we could reach close to the half Million mark by end of year, it's terrifying!
