ReplyDeleteInteresting Obit in The Times. She died of cancer and into her eighties she smoked 20 a day and drove a sports car. Quite a girl. And as Barbara Anne above says - Rest in Peace Diana.

She was my idol as a child - I dreamed of training at RADA ... then I realised what a hard and unforgiving career the stage would be, and grew up. I loved her as Mrs Peel, and the few classical productions I've seen her in were stunning. We never got into Game of Thrones, but that clip was powerful. The Obit I read didn't mention family at all - did she have any?

DeleteI would have loved to see her in "Suddenly Last Summer,one of my favorite William' plays. How lucky you were. I am assuming she played Sebastian's Mum. I was lucky too, a couple of years ago when I saw her as Henry Higgens' Mum. Did not know she would be in the performance I attended.You as well as I both have our memories.

DeleteI too always loved her work. Emma Peel was the epitome of sophistication and yet all her work has been great. Mrs Bradley mysteries! and with her daughter, Rachel Stirling in "the detectorists". she was such a versatile actress. she will be missed.
