I woke up at 6.30 am and walked the dogs briefly before going back to bed
The man on the right side of the bed didn't wake until 10 am
We drank coffee from the French cups without handles and talked until 11.30
That's when Mary joined us , all pert and unhappy that she had been left out for so long
More coffee and breakfast in the sun
He's gone now and Winnie is licking the cheese sauce from last nights supper dish
I made garlic croutons too
But there's non of those left
Just the washing up, radio 4
And the westerly breeze floating through the cottage windows
Sunday afternoon
I am so not biting about the man on the right side of your bed, but breakfast in the sun sounds rather nice.

ReplyDeleteNot waking until 10? I guess you wore him out ....
ReplyDeleteYou left Mary outside from 6.30 until 11.30? Poor girl! However truly wonderful The Man is your animals should come first. Your loyal and devoted girl, cast aside because there's a new man on the scene.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound like The Man is a keeper - leaving you with the washing up.
She was on the couch
DeleteNo nony-Mary cannot join in with All activities at the cottage and Mr Swoon Was a guest x

ReplyDeleteA heads up for you, John. I just watched a CBS interview with Eric Whiteacre, the composer and conductor of Sing Gently virtual choir who's You Tube video premieres in three hours. I think they said 17000+ voices. It looks and sounds lovely on the preview. I thought you might enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDo you suppose Albert, Mary, Winnie, and Dorothy had a discussion about who would go into your room and Mary drew the short straw?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Heeeee heeee.
DeleteGood for you sweetie ~ so glad you had such a lovely evening :)
ReplyDeleteOnce again sir, you have me smiling so much that it kind of hurts.
ReplyDeleteLittle things that help heal the wounds that time alone just didn't seem to improve. So happy for you.

ReplyDeleteSounds like things are looking up! And I should check my spelling before I press 'Publish'.
ReplyDeleteLovely and romantic, I am happy for you---though washing up after a meal, the conversation, the intimacy, the smiles, the hip bumps---can be wonderful too, if a smidge mundane. He could pitch in a bit next time--or bring flowers and wine?
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaahhhhhhh sounds idyllic.

ReplyDeleteI sense a note of regret...?
ReplyDeleteYou sense not
DeleteI had to reread your post to see what the tizzy about washing up was for...I missed it the first read-through. I just hope you had a nice time. So lovely to have company, isn't it? One of the sadder things about being divorced later in life, even though it was my choice, is the loneliness. Thank the heavens for my pets!
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely x
ReplyDeleteYour writing is beautiful. If you're half as good between the sheets you're one helluva dude.

You enjoyed yourself, the time and the company. Good.
ReplyDeleteLovely entry. You sound more peaceful than for a long time. A rerun of the Matt Albar Handsome Man? Post his 'Wanna Dance With Somebody' video sometime. Transforms a hackneyed old hit! Thanks for introducing me to his delightful music
ReplyDeleteHe's a delight isn't he
DeleteGood on ya John:)
ReplyDeleteA bit quick to dash off the following morning? A wife at home? Shame you didn't get to spend the leisurely Sunday with him. What other more interesting things or people were more important than spending the time with you?
ReplyDeleteThat's a rather nasty thing to say
DeleteDon't you think?
Aninny is rather bitter I do believe x
DeleteGlad you left this here, John. Anon doesn’t seem to be too good at details...it is not at all clear when the chap left...not clear it was in the morning

ReplyDeleteI'm being rather vague not for any personal or devious reasons
