Pentaglottis and Cow Parsley

I washed my bedding when I got home after my last night shift and as usual hung it on the field gate to dry when I went to bed.
It tells people I am home
It's a lovely day, bright, warm and full of birdsong.
I took advantage of the fact that the council workmen have not cleared the grass in the Churchyard and cut myself a large bunch of the blue Pentaglossis which I have coupled up with Cow Parsley from the lane in a spare jug for the kitchen table.
It feels so good to be free of work for a few days

What lovely flowers and am glad you saved this lot from being mowed flat!

Hurray for pretty, warm weather when you're off work for several days! How shall you spend the time?

I recently saw a cartoon of two birds talking together. One birds says to the other, "I don't know why I got up early all those mornings to get the worm. Yesterday I slept in and simply got a different worm!"

    Hugs!

  7. John, one of my favorite colors - that blue. I love the "natural" bouquet. I can smell the clean sheets. S'matter of fact, I'm going outside now to bring mine in off the clothesline. Hope your day is all you could hope for. Hugs from across "The Pond."

  10. That bouquet is stunningly beautiful and beats any shop bought flamboyance. And such a short supply chain too.

  15. We've got that pentaglottis (which we call green alkanet or, improperly, borage) all over our garden. The bees LOVE it. Yours looks like it has more solid stems than ours. The stems here are very fleshy and I'm not sure they'd work as cut flowers, though I've never tried. I love cow parsley!

  19. Clean sundried bedding is bliss. Years back I stayed at a Bed and Breakfast that dried their sheets draped over lavender bushes, and remember it very, very fondly.
I like your vase of flowers too.

Had to look up Pentaglottis. As I thought it's the flower that I know as Alkanet.
Sundried sheets with a vase of ox-eye daisies in my blue and white bedroom and the sun streaming this morning.

  27. Hanging clean sheets to let people know you're home reminds me of how royalty fly a special flag to signal they are in residence.

So wonderful to sleep on air-crisped sheets!
