Breakfast

Breakfast out this morning was a treat
Too much coffee
Long chats and a walk on the beach
I am beginning to love Breakfast meet ups,
You are simply more awake and have significantly more  time to chat!

We Brits seem to have inherited this wonderful phenomenon from the Yanks
Even a decade ago I remember Samantha, Carrie and Miranda meeting up in their local diner for fruit and cwafffeeee at some ungodly hour.
At least today it was after 9 am for me and a bit of plain black pudding was involved!

I'm tired at the corona virus panic
I've seen the yearly struggle of intensive care with influx of flu cases for a decade now and every year thousands nationally will die from the complications of the virus
Common sense needs to prevail

The restaurant I went to this morning was unusually quiet

At least we got a nice table

What a lovely way to begin a welcome day off and at a civilized time of day, too.

I agree all has been hyped to the nth degree about this virus. The anti-bacterial hand soap that so many are buying will be useless because a virus is not bacteria. That is common sense.

    Enjoy your free time!

    Hugs!

  2. The panic buying has been a bit of a concern, shops cant get deliveries through quick enough. Its like Christmas all over again in some ways.

The panic is making more worry for the elderly and I feel tired of it too. The overbuying of toilet rolls is beyond ridiculous. I agree that it's virus with some comparisons with the flu virus however we're able to be vaccinated against the seasonal flu and are able to feel protected to some extent. But not with the Covid virus meaning the elderly feel more vulnerable and worried. Feeling worried at any age is awful but to be elderly and vulnerable and worry is so much worse.

    1. Agreed... I think it's an opportunity to pull together to look after that older person next door or down the street

  5. A very civilised start to the day :-)

The panic buying is starting to get a bit worrying now, and some of the most ridiculous things are completely sold out. No eggs in Asda, no pasta or tinned beans of any description, only those 2 min microwave packs of rice and no pasta in any description of the big supermarkets. Thank goodness for Llanrwst and the little Co-op, just business as usual, nice full shelves (although I didn't look at the toilet roll aisle) and I was able to get a packet of spaghetti to tip into my empty jar.

Lets hope that things settle down in the next few days and people start being sensible.

  6. The death rate of the corona virus is much higher than flu, isn't it? As I said on Rachel's blog, as a person who is considered ''at risk'' due to health issues, I do not want to die...but I didn't stock up on toilet paper either. I do worry about friends who commute to the city and friends with new born babies. And then there's the stock market. I suppose hurricane season starts soon too....

  8. I take my Border Terrier for long walks across the commons - lungfuls of fresh air. Try to avoid crowded environments although can be difficult in supermarkets. Wash hands - but live life. I'm not concerned about me - rather very elderly parents and people who are medically compromised, in nursing homes etc. Early morning coffee with friends and a walk on the beach - that's living John.

    1. Flu kills the elderly every year. We all should be hand washing and careful with droplet dispersal

That's a great menu - I'm just surprised the prices appear to be in dollars. (I'm in the States and not a world traveller!) Enjoy your breakfasts out. There's nothing better to start the day, though for me, it makes me lazy and then the rest of the day is pretty much wasted.

  12. I try to spend more time walking my dogs like P.I don't know if the fresh air is safe or not but I can try to keep healthy. In supermarket this week I noticed a difference with spaces where painkillers usually are, pasta, baked beans, chicken, looroll, tissues. The cashier said shoppers are going in at 6am to stock up now.I must admit today I have popped in shops for extra dog food and dog antiseptic and disposable gloves x

  13. John I have just watched the News conference on the Cobra meeting - the medical officer said we must never compare it with the seasonal flu epidemic - this is a virus to which none of us have the slightest immunity. Naturally at 87 I am wary but am trying to be sensible at the same time. Panic is not in my nature and if my time has come, so be it.

  14. I cannot believe that Bath Council is allowing the Bath Half Marathon to go ahead this Sunday. An extra 50,000 people will be shoulder to shoulder in the streets, then pouring into our pubs and restaurants. It's not about stopping the infections, it's about slowing the rate down so that the NHS can cope with the inevitable 2, 3, 4, 5 % (?) of over 60s who will need intensive care if they stand any chance of getting over it. This is no ordinary flu virus. I am not stocking up on toilet roll though, even though Waitrose runs out on a daily basis. Morrisons has tons, and I buy the £1 for 6 ones, in case you're interested...

    2. The timing of these banning of crowds is an interesting one given irelands decisions today.
We were done for weeks ago when world aircraft travel distributed it all over........
In the U.K. Disagnosing the virus is woeful

    3. Agree John. Chinese 'wet markets' appear to be the source. Air travel and our globalised world has facilitated its transmission (speaking with my former Public Health dept hat on).

  15. We have had no toilet paper in my city for weeks (and the first case of the virus was confirmed yesterday). Hand sanitisers are below the counter only.
    Sigh.
With a compromised immune system I am at risk, and am simply being sensible.

  16. It's strange to hear the people on the news who work in government talking about how dangerous the virus is for senior citizens have they looked in the mirror lately they are mostly all old men who should have retired years ago to give the new generation a chance but for some reason they think they are indispensable.

  23. HAIL LUCIUFER HOW ILLUMINATI BROTHERHOOD MADE ME RICH. Hello! I want to share this testimony with you. "I have been living a life of poverty for the past many years. Then, to feed my family was a serious challenge. I almost lost my senses due to much thinking. I have searched everywhere, do all manners of work but non could give me the a different things on the net about “Illuminati''. At first i was scared thinking that they will tell me to bring human being for sacrifice. But i still went on to apply but could not join. But one day I traveled to a nearby city to see a friend for financial assistance to start a business. He was actually the one that told me to come and see him. I spent few days with him. We had several discussions and I used those opportunities to explained more of my predicament to him and he promised to help me. From there, I knew very well that my life has already changed for the better. The next day when he arrived from the office, He explained to me secretes of his wealth. There he told me about the ILLUMINATI BROTHERHOOD. I was not afraid because I have already made up my mind. But he also made me to understand everything that there is no human sacrifice and I agreed to join the society. He helped me to obtain my membership form. Then after the membership form was fully processed, I was invited to Paris Saint, France. district where my initiation ceremony took place and I was given $730,000 US dollars and a car also worth thousands of dollars to fit the members of the club. It was a surprise to me because I have never received such money before. After the initiation, seven days later, I was also invited for the main awarding ceremony and I was also given another $900,000 US dollars . Today, I have a good business that is moving fine. My husband and my kids are living fine and I am so happy today". If you are
