The Rise Of Skywalker

" Why are you texting me from the cinema?"
That was the message I received from my nephew Leo during my time watching The Rise Of Skywalker
I was a bit bored
The Jedi twins fight, fall on the floor, fight a bit more, fall on the floor a bit more and feel at one with the force
The rebel alliance gets attacked, look worried, get attacked again, have lots of group hugs, look even more worried after most get killed then hug again when reinforcements turn up
We have seen it all before, and it's all polished and good fun
But hardly original at all.
I missed Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) who starred in the previous movie The Last Jedi but who had a tiny role in this the sequel.
She gave the franchise some warmth and heart

  1. I suppose as I had never seen one before I enjoyed it.

  2. I loved it. But I loved the closing of game of thrones as well. It's difficult to bring nine movies together. After watching the one scene with Carrie Fisher I do wish they had made more clear that she also had the powers in earlier movies.

  3. I have heard that this one was so much like the others and not worth the time.

  4. I have seen them all....no desire to see this one. They need to hang the franchise up methinks.

Time for new ideas and stories....or are we tapped? To many remakes and sequels you ask me.

  9. I'm going to go and see it but I know it's not going to be great. Too tired and repeating itself over and over. They have a formula that works I guess and they keep trotting it out.

  10. I think I saw the original Star Wars but nothing since then. I know, I'm an old fart with no taste.

  11. They've been fighting for how many years? Someone needs to win and move on to exploration or fight aliens instead.

  12. Seen them all except for this last. Can't muster up the slightest interest to fill in the final blank, so will leave it at "If you've seen one you've seen them all".

  13. I've heard this one is mediocre. We haven't seen it yet.

  14. If I ever suffer from insomnia I will remember to watch this film. No doubt I will be snoring away in seconds.

  17. I was kind of nervous to read your review John. But relieved you just didn't like it and you did not just rip it apart like some i've heard. Well hubby and i went to go see it last night... Is it my favorite Star Wars...no... That would be one of the 3 original films.. But this one wasn't bad. For me it wrapped up everything nicely.. and that was important to me. Its true it did lose some of its heart in this film... I'm not sure if it was the lack of screen time for Rose or just that fact they were trying to fit so much in the film.. It was satisfying to see Rae in the Luke's old helmet and fighter.. But some of the ending i didn't understand.. They must have lost me because where did the third lightsaber come from? And i could have thought of a better place to bury them.. One being the island where she found Luke.. anyway i think i enjoyed it more than you. Hugs! deb

We don't plan to see this edition of Star Wars as it just doesn't seem very interesting. Nice to have had a phone for your own entertainment during the movie!

    Hugs!

  19. I don't think I fancy that John but I used to watch Planet of the Apes on tv with my mum on a Sunday lunchtime when I was at school-also The Clangers- my mum used to talk to me in their language and I'd whistle back(if this is similar but a bit more dramatic)x

  21. If you are knowledgeable about a particular subject, put your knowledge to work for you. There are many companies, such as about.com, that will pay you for your knowledge. Most of these sites do require you to write a certain number of articles each month; however, this is a fantastic way to bump up your earnings.
