Dumplings For Lunch

I'm simmering Chinese chicken dumplings for lunch
It's wet and wintery today and dumplings seem like a good idea
As I tidy away the flotsam of the last few days I've half watched classics like Oklahoma ( wasn't the auction scene tense?) and Guys and Dolls...later it's the remake of The Jungle Book
First thing, in my PJs I watched and thoroughly enjoyed Moana ( who knew The Rock could sing?)
And later I'm box binging Fear The walking Dead with my last two remaining Fortum & Mason's scotch eggs ( and a jar of piccalilli)
( what a wonderful date!)

  1. Sounds like a wonderful day! I watched only a few of the Fear the Walking Dead. I've watched the original TWD since it's start; still enjoy it, and I think the latest seasons (since Rick left!) have really picked up (mainly b/c Norman Reedus gets to do something). May the rest of your holiday be wonderful!

  8. For us (i.e. me) it's going to be Morrison's vegetable samosas with fried pilau rice - a bit of a contrast to yesterday's Xmas dinner of beans on toast (with a generous pinch of curry powder added to give some kick) plus, as a concession to the day, a dozen or so sprouts on the side.
Nothing on TV yesterday, today or next few days to grab me enough, so burying myself in Dostoyevsky's 'The Devils' (second time round, first read in, gosh!........1978!)

What an excellent way to spend Boxing Day - doing what you choose to do and topping it off with your Scotch eggs and piccalilli.

We will be taking things quietly as DH has either come down with a horrid cold or the flu but the misery hasn't declared itself yet. Treating the symptoms for now.

    Hugs!

  10. John, I'm catching up today: Your story about Nia and the patient singing "Silent Night" brought tears to my eyes - so sweet. It sounds as if you've had a really lovely holiday season first with your family and then just relaxing at home watching shows with your pets. I love chicken dumplings....mmmmmm good! And icing on your cake: a few days off. Wonderful way to end this year. Hugs.

  11. Piccalilli and Scotch Eggs - gosh, your loo will sound like the Somme tomorrow!

I seem to have watched bits of everyone else's programmes over the last couple of days, so hope to catch up on the ones I recorded.

  12. Ohhh yes!
It’s unseasonably hot here and it does not resemble winter at all, so dumplings would be awesome.its not a holiday here, but as it were. I’m in a hotel room in St Louis catching up with my bloggers.

    XoXo

  13. When my first granddaughter (now 25) was in diapers, she ran to the tv as the tape of Jungle Book closed, and her little butt waggled just like Mogli and Baloo, the bear.

  14. Sounds fun and hope you enjoyed it. I worked Christmas day too from 5.30am (the joys of the NHS). I had a lovely family dinner later though.

  15. And did those F and M Scotch Eggs live up to their reputation?

  16. Well, except for the Scotch eggs and The Walking Dead, that sounds like bliss to me.
