Y Shed

I met my elder sister yesterday for coffee at Y shed which is Welsh for .......... The Shed . A converted  ( go figure!) Railway shed on the walkway I walk the dogs.
My sister wanted to check I was alright since my decree nisi which she had presumed was my decree absolute.
No, I had to tell her, I am still legally married!
She chewed her lips in worry....
My elder sister is fiercely matriarchal...and would put  Mildred Pierce to shame in a head to head.

Y Shed welcomes dog walkers, and Dotty and Mary were impressively well behaved as we drank our coffee.

I got my hair cut at my local barber who unfortunately was suffering from sickness and diarrhoea ( what a lottery!!!!)
Then I went to a furniture centre who sells big store seconds and bought a lovely "new"  arm chair!

In the afternoon , my neighbour Trevor asked me to shake his fruit trees with a rake....in order to collect the apples.

I've done it every year since 2007

  1. Wear a hard hat and goggles if you are shaking fruit trees; I speak from experience. We need to see a photo of the armchair.

  4. As a big sister I can confirm, that WE are allowed to slag our brother off, WE are allowed to mess him around … but woe betide anyone else who messes with or hurts in any way our little bro!!

Ooh I quite fancy Y Shed, there's not that many places round these parts that allow dogs in. One in Llandudno that always gets our custom and lots that make you sit outside, not to be recommended as the colder days come in. I always find that dogs that are allowed into shops seem, on the whole, to behave themselves, it's as though they realise in some way that they are being given a glimpse into another side of our lives and they relish it … and of course there are usually crumbs ;-)

  5. I know what you mean about big sisters - they never shake off that protective role. Mine is five years older than me.

  6. The Y shed looks delightful, and good that it welcomes dogs too.
What's this " go figure" all about. Are you turning into an American ?

  7. The Y Shed looks great. Most of the cafes in our village allow dogs, I took Raffie to one regularly when he was a young puppy,

I don't have a big sister or any sister but have three big brothers !

I hope Dorothy likes her new chair ! Xx

  11. I'm a big sister but never got the chance to be protective. My two brothers were always together and looking out for each other.

I hope you didn't catch anything from you barber. Are you looking neat and groomed now?

  13. That reminds me of the lyric, “Really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree...”

  14. So this is not the first time you have beat the bushes. Sorry to hear about the decree, I had assumed the same thing.

  16. Maybe you've already explained this, but what is the decree nisi, then? An intermediate step of some kind? (I'll read lower in case you've already answered this question.) That "shed" looks like an interesting place!

    1. A decree nisi is an order from a court that supposes a final outcome (in this case divorce) unless either party can prove that it is not in the mutual interests of both parties. It is uncommon that a decree nisi will not become absolute.

  17. It seems more complicated to get divorced than it was to get married. Is that right?

What a prolonged bother (understatement) this divorce is. What on earth is the cause of the l o n g process? More money for the lawyers?

Add me to the list of those who want to see your new armchair. It was so sweet of you to provide personal seating for newcomer Dorothy!

I've yet to be in a cafe or restaurant that allowed dogs in.

Sue's warning to wear a hard hat while shaking fruit trees is brilliant.

    Hugs!

  19. I find that when I take Tess into restaurants which accept dogs she is always well-behaved - she seems to know what is expected of here - sounds as though yours were the same.

I always wanted a big sister. By the time I realized how much, I also realized it wasn't possible :)

The Y Shed is a pretty building.

  23. Sounds like a nice day John all cafe's should allow dogs especially as now it's trendy to have cat cafe's and dogs don't walk across the table while your eating.
