A Nice Pair Of Hairy Calves

I didn't have a headache this morning, though my eyeballs felt unusually tender!
I had forgotten I had booked lunch with a friend for next Sunday and not this, so at a loose end, I took myself to a local art gallery for a mooch and for some lunch.

The exhibits were interesting.
But not quite as impressive as the gallery attendants hairy calves which caught my attention much more than the pink animal sideboard!
They were lovely and just as impressive as his trendy twirled moustache!

To cool off I took myself to the cafe and was given a very large gold number three to let the server know what table to bring my sandwich.
" Thats a bit camp!" I told the staff
" You should see our number 7 ...it's fabulous !" the server replied.

I sat and ate my sandwich as the gallery attendant with the lovely calves sat down nearby to eat his lunch. With such a lovely view all too much I went to look at some more of the art and with my left over birthday money bought myself   a flying bird sculptured from a broad palate knife!

  2. Galleries do have some different exhibits, don't they! What a massive table number, did they go to double figures?
I love you Art Wall, John. Albert looks very proud :)

    1. Yes, for me too Albert is the 'stand out' feature here - though I do regret not having a pic of those hairy calves. (My imagination is playing havoc!)

  5. Perhaps the gallery assistant was in fact a moving exhibit - "Hairy Calves" by Damien Hirst who was of course at one time famous for making Art from cattle.

  13. The bird is lovely...much nicer than the sideboard! As Raybeard said, you DO have the knack of making a great tale from what could sound mundane...you are our answer to Davis Sidaris - just as funny, but a bit kinder! BBC are you listening?

    1. It does .....every one has a meaning and really important meaning ....art was important to both chris and I and he took most of our paintings ( he bought most of them or they were gifts from me)
To be fair he said he would leave them to me if he died, but as I much older I declined the offer

  31. Albert what a handsome lad! My hubby is of a slim, muscular build (he can eat his own bodyweight in food and never put on an ounce) but has a cracking pair of footballer's legs so I understand the attraction completely.
