"I'll admit I may have seen better days,
but I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail,
"(Margo Channing)
47 Years
The last time my twin sister and I went on a bike ride together was 47 years ago!
47!
So today, looking every inch like a couple of Enid Blyton characters we took to the promenade for a sunny bit of cycling
What fun!
I have nothing to say, except I'm sitting here grinning like a fool at the pleasure of spending fun times with someone you are as close to as your twin ...💕
Oh that looks like so much fun! I've been wanting to get out on my bike but I just found out I have several tears in my knee and will have to have surgery. You'll just have to have some bike rides for me!
Hello Janet - nice to meet you! What a wonderful pastime with the one constant in one's life, your closest and dearest relative. Looks like you had a beautiful day for it. Hope you can do it again soon.
Visions of Terry Scott and June Whitfield on a tandem in 'Carry on Camping', the latter doing the 'driving'. Cut to Babs Windsor doing forward thrusts until her bra snaps off and lands on Kenneth Williams' face - "Oooooh Matron! Take them away!"
My last bike ride was probably slightly before that. I'd like to cycle again, but cycling on busy roads rather than cycle paths is dangerous, and Jenny forbids it!
I am fascinated by twins! My friend is a twin, she calls her brother her womb mate. And I have twin grandbabies, boy and girl, 10 months old and they are so funny to watch! Your biking looks like a lot of fun, what a great way to spend time together!
Sun, flat bike trail, ocean and best of all your sister to spend some time with. Perfect !

A lovely afternoon
DeleteOmg how fun!
ReplyDeleteFirst that you went on a bike ride in such a nice day, second, that you’re a Twin?
You keeps surprising us, John.
XoXo
Janet and john
DeleteI hope that basket was full of spiffing tuck.
ReplyDeleteI hope scotch eggs and lashings of ginger beer were in that bike basket.
ReplyDeleteAs you are twins you should have surely been on a tandem!
ReplyDeleteWould Janet trust him on the front?
DeletePS Not being sexist; it's much easier on a tandem if the heavy one is on the front...looks as though that might be John...
DeleteWhat are you trying to say?.......................
DeleteYou'd make a good windbreak
DeleteWhat a great spot to ride - I'd bicycle on that if I had it, too! That's a wonderful way to start your biking adventures, with your twin sister.
ReplyDeleteI need to get the fat off Jenny o
DeleteSo do I, but I'm not biking on our streets, I'd get run down :)
DeleteI have nothing to say, except I'm sitting here grinning like a fool at the pleasure of spending fun times with someone you are as close to as your twin ...💕
ReplyDeleteIt brought back lots of old memories
DeleteWhat larks!
ReplyDeletePip!!!!
DeleteLooks like a beautiful day for fun!
ReplyDeleteA perfect place to ride. No hills. No dirt trails. No mobs of people. And the perfect company. You're both very lucky!
ReplyDeleteWe needed a flat start
DeleteOh, looks like you were both having great fun. Enjoy! Maybe you can do it again!
ReplyDeleteCat
Oh yes it's going to be a regular thing
DeleteYou two look great, but I cannot believe how empty that beach is. Ours is wall to wall with sun lovers.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we have miles of golden sand but few holiday makers want the Welsh coastal experience
DeleteIt's not yet school holiday time. Watch that prom fill up with scousers!
DeleteHope you had lashings of ginger beer!
ReplyDeleteAnd where was Timmy?
DeleteWhere's the photo of you on your bike?
ReplyDeleteI kept that hidden, it would turn your stomach
DeleteOh that looks like so much fun! I've been wanting to get out on my bike but I just found out I have several tears in my knee and will have to have surgery. You'll just have to have some bike rides for me!
ReplyDeleteDone
DeleteThe perfect spot to do this by the looks of it! Nice when we have special time with our sibs.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's easy to forget
DeleteLovely shot John and what an empty beach - you could have gone skinny dipping.
ReplyDeleteI never uncover on the beach ever
DeleteO you intrepid cyclists! Did you solve a mystery or two whilst on your cycling adventure? I hope you had your torches handy!
ReplyDeletedid you have fun? or were you panting like a dog and moaning that your legs hurt?
ReplyDeleteNo, it was fun!
DeleteThat looks like a great place to go biking! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteWell done you two, I got on my bike last week, was nervous and wobbly but onwards and upwards !
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! I'm an only child so I don't have the sibling experiences but seeing this makes me wish I did. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely day for a bike ride nice to see you here Janet.

ReplyDeleteHow pleasant it would be just jaunting and chatting with a sibling. And your best one.
ReplyDeleteI used to love cycling along the Prom' from Brighton to Rottingdean.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun. I haven’t been on a bike in years. Glad you are out enjoying time with your twin.
ReplyDeleteVisions of Terry Scott and June Whitfield on a tandem in 'Carry on Camping', the latter doing the 'driving'. Cut to Babs Windsor doing forward thrusts until her bra snaps off and lands on Kenneth Williams' face - "Oooooh Matron! Take them away!"
ReplyDeleteNOT June Whitfield but Betty Marsden (of course!).
DeleteMy last bike ride was probably slightly before that. I'd like to cycle again, but cycling on busy roads rather than cycle paths is dangerous, and Jenny forbids it!

ReplyDeleteHa! That DOES look like an Enid Blyton book cover!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely flat route to cycle, John, with some great sea air thrown into the mix. Love your sister's bike!
