  4. Thank you so much - you are all amazing! Great job, John. I enjoyed them all. What a wonderful way to step away from the day-to-day cares.

As a very old woman, am I the only one who wants to tell your talented conductor to pull up his pants?! (I guess I am - no one else has!)

  5. Lovely indeed, both!
Just an observation: I know that the choir has only to work with those who are willing to join but it's a pity that you haven't got just a few more male singers to give more lower-register balance as the men appear to be vastly outnumbered by female members - and it would have been not very gallant to have asked a number of the latter to sit these songs out.
Having said that, a fine, remarkable achievement. Thank you!

    3. Yes, you did, especially considering your depleted M numbers.

  6. Truly lovely. Tom asked me who was singing and I told him it was John Gently's choir, he was so impressed and thought it was wonderful. Thank you for posting.

Marvelous, one and all, and your conductor's movements were just perfect! Oh, and I did spy you from afar during the Pallet song.

Ta for the late afternoon pick-me-up!

  21. How lovely! That was first class! Isn't is incredible that I am sitting in northern Vermont across the Atlantic, sipping a cocktail on a rainy evening and listening to a beautiful performance from Wales.
    Thank you, John!

  22. I loved them, especially the second, although I suspect the first was harder to learn. Your director is so smiley and everyone looks happy to be singing. No wonder you enjoy your choir nights!

  29. Ok... so now I am sniffing away a few tears... lovely, lovely choral singing... I don't regret many things but I do regret not being able to sing. I would truly love to be a part of a choir but I cannot hold a note. And another reason to be a bit teary is.. I have read your blog for a number of years and have been part of your journey through reading, I followed your zip line challenge, I sent a postcard and there suddenly you are in the flesh... it is a very strange recognition from the rural north west of Auckland of NZ to where you are in Wales. Fantastic.
