Brilliant postcards ..... they have all been so different ..... did you think that you would get so many John ? It was a great idea .... I am imagining the person in Nova Scotia, buying their card and posting it along with all the other people around the world. XXXX
I think this postcard challenge has been THE most fun thing on ANY blog, EVER! It has been so much fun for you, and for all of us too. Sad for your mail carrier - maybe we can include him in the next FUN thing you think up, John! Wouldn't that be a hoot?!! I wonder what it could be......
Well, I’m very impressed with the postal service - I only posted my card last night, and it seems to have got there already! (Dogs must be carried - unless someone else has sent the same one?) I admit, Winnie did cross my mind when I chose it... This has been such a great idea - I love looking at all the cards every day. Hope you’re enjoying it as much as all of us, John. xxxx
I'm so tickled that mine are up today. This has been such a fun thing both to do and to follow along with. I'm looking forward to your final tally of cards received.
Unless Ms Winter Mornings is describing something metaphorically and I am being too literal, modern cars absolutely do not need to be warmed up before they are driven. The warm up is an urban myth/ misconception.
"[because modern cars have electronic fuel injection with sensors]Idling in winter thus has no benefit to your (presumably modern) car. Auto experts today say that you should warm up the car no more than ***30 seconds**** before you start driving in winter. " The engine will warm up faster being driven," the EPA and DOE explain. '' Just, you know, so you don't mess up poor Bluebell's engine.
Hello John due to total inertia I haven't sent my cards yet sorry x you struck a chord with me when you shared about separation bereavement it's just nine years since I was widowed feels like yesterday but you and your kindness humour and love for others inspires me. Much love to you and the furries l loved Albert in the bath looking totally innocent and oblivious to Mary's attentions. Thanks for keeping me going x
Nice collection John of postcards, I love the pigeon one, can you tell me who is the artist? Sometimes it's written at the back of the card, thank you 🌸🌸
I remember that view of the old cinema in Sag Harbor from my visits there. (It burned a few years ago, as I recall.) I love the "Dogs Must Be Carried" card -- that's ME on the tube with Olga! (Well, she's not quite THAT big, but big enough!)
Lovely colourful cards. Enjoy the poetry. Wish I was coming too. x
ReplyDeleteHa! My second postcard (top one) sent last week has already arrived!!! It's not as camp as the missing postcard is/was but at least you received it.
ReplyDelete"Dogs Must Be Carried" is a hoot! Love the continuing variety of postcards.
Hugs!

ReplyDeleteJust what will you do with all the postcards once the contest is done? I worried mine wouldn't make it since I had to order that copy.
