Dark skies

The  dark nights of winter are here and my pumpkin faces down the lane, warding off bad karma and the ill will of strangers .

  2. You're a day, I mean a night, early. Do the spirits of the dead know we've turned the clocks back and if they come to visit at midnight they'll have to hang about outside for an hour before they can come and greet us. Don't forget to leave a window open so they can come and go.

  5. This time of year reminds me of this poem:

I loved to read it to my younger brothers and sister, years and years ago, to scare them.
That's an evil looking punkin, John!

  17. Yikes ! Halloween is almost here, it happened so fast !
I will turn out the front lights and keep the car in the garage.
I am not a Halloween Scrooge but being alone here, it will not be a good idea to open the door at night to who knows what ? Little goblins in the daylight though, I will have candy for .. chocolates .. hoping there will be a lot left over lol

  18. It was treat last year so it'll be trick this year. I've prepared the cauldron of boiling lead and the buckshot. That should see them off.

  19. I saw a cottage garden today full of small grave stones. I thought it was a pet cemetary. Then I saw the pumpkins and realised it was for halloween. Macabre.
