Hands In Pockets Time

Hello All,
As you may remember , I am terrified of heights
And so, I am going to squeeze my fat arse into a sleeping bag and I am going to launch myself
Over the Bethesda Quarry on the Velocity 2 zip line
On September 26th

I am doing this for Charity namely
The Rhyl Samaritans,
Of which I am deputy director for Caller Care

Please sponsor me
Give what you can! The money will go directly to our centre and will be used to support the
Service we give our callers

Donation page

I am zipping with fellow villager Ann Maltoff who will be doing her jump
In support of Alzheimer's Charity
I will publish her charity link tomorrow

    2. There is no shame in being skint, Tom. It happens. Only yesterday did I consider asking John for a fiver (my problem largely that of cash flow). That comes from still being in recovery after 2008/9.

  8. Sorry John. I tried valiantly, but it made me jump through hoops that were higher than I could manage.
Great cause - and I hope that despite your fear you have fun.

  12. Sure, I'll donate. Have you checked the Ph of the water in said? The heavy metal content? The weight limit (apologies) on the zip line? etc....I consider zip lining to be like skydiving......why jump out of a perfectly fine aircraft??

  15. Pardon my lack of sophistication as I say .... Happy to donate, but having difficulty understanding the currency exchange. Inasmuch as I might be donating 30 thousand dollars I do not have, need to know about that highlighted red 30 with a funny little symbol, i.e., what is that in American money.

    1. Of course Ursula was right. Isn't she always? But you don't need to "finance" a book these days. Costs zero to do it by self publishing through good outlets such as CreateSpace and put it on Amazon & Kindle etc in print and online versions, and then your royalties would flow. Or of course you could approach traditional publishers. I have done it both ways several times. Happy to advise if you wish. But on the other hand, if you are happy with a blog you should maybe stick with a blog. I suggest doing what you want not what others want may be a good rule for the future.

  28. Does anyone from Canada know if our banks charge a fee for currency conversion??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Scotiabank charges "A fee of 2.5% of the converted amount, applied to both debit and credit transactions." I donated anyway.

      Delete
    2. Thank you, Ginger. That's quite a reasonable fee.

      Delete
    3. Jenny my bank charges the same. So reasonable is right.

  29. Done and dusted, JayGee. 'Twould have been perverse and wrong to have offered anything less than I spend on cinema tickets in an average-good week. Still wish it could have been more, though.
