You look to have such a loving, supportive family John. Some of them I have seen in so many photos that I almost feel I know them. One question - could you still stand at the end of the evening?
It's two degrees cooler there in Sitges than here at home, enjoy! Looks like a lovely family gathering, hope Ann had a great time, and really, really enjoyed her flaming whisky cake! X
Jagger IS mean, by which I don't just mean him counting his pennies. Remember when he and Jerry Hall (mother of several of his children) split and he claimed that their marriage wasn't legal anyway (some beach in Bali?). That was when he went right down the greasy pole of my esteem.
Big disappointment to me when I learnt that Sean Connery lives up to the image of the Scottish penny pincher. I am quite smitten with Connery but can't abide people who show no generousity of both heart and purse. If I had a say in it I'd make stinginess the eighth deadly sin.
Yorkshire men are well know for their generosity. I once bought another bloke a half of bitter with no expectation of having the favour returned. I believe this happened in 1986 - May 14th to be precise - at 10.45pm - in "The Noah's Ark". I couldn't sleep that night.
To paraphrase: All families' merriment looks the same, all families' misery baked in their own oven, recipe unspecified. The latter, hopefully, not handed down for generations.
Didn't kick in immediately looking at your photos; am now feeling quite wistful ...
May Sangria flow some more, tapas aplenty and the Spanish sun shine on you.
The family that gets together (not just on the computer or phone) seems to stay together! Mine will be here in less than a week for our annual get together/laugh fest! Can't wait! Safe travels John.

Lovely family gathering.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday of course.
By the way: doesn't Mick Jagger dye his hair anymore?
I hope that Mick Jagger settled the bill. Mind you - wealthy people can be very mean.

DeleteWhat a fine gathering! But where's Keith Richards?
ReplyDeleteKeith Richards was in yesterday's post: He was the handsy security agent who groped and felt up John for contraband before the flight took off.
DeleteProbably thought John was a mule smuggling Welsh rarebits into Spain...or maybe he just wanted to examine John's rare bits.
Lovely. So glad you were able to go.
ReplyDeleteRelax, enjoy, and ignore the trolls,
ReplyDeleteI hope you all got satisfaction.
