I thought it was funny when, was it the North Korean, took hold of the South Koreans hand and led him across to his side. (I can't remember their names). Does anyone know what brought on this turn-around?
Two blokes dashed across in front of us in the city today. Nothing about them seemed gay to me, yet they were holding hands as a couple in love would. It just made me feel terribly old and out of touch.
Macron's speech to Congress was amazing - lots of applause and standing ovations from both sides of the aisle. It was exciting for us Americans to hear a leader say good things about democracy - not something we're accustomed to any more - and a nice change from our current everyday experience to hear it spoken in excellent English.
A very memorable and historic event, let's hope that North and South Korea now work together. I didn't think I would see the two leaders of those countries in my lifetime ever being so friendly never mind actually meeting.
It's interesting that the leader of the North half, where the people are starving, looks much better Fed than the leader of the South. Anyway hopefully this is the real deal, we will see.
Two men holding hands, what is there not to like? Trouble is, the podgier one with the dodgy haircut (no I don’t mean Trump, this time) I just feel a tad uneasy about... I might be wrong, mind!?!
My cynical side is uppermost when I hear of 'de-nuclearisation'. Hmmm . One minute exploding bigger and stronger nuclear warheads, then demolishing the place where they are built. Only if he has another, newer, better building to continue making warheads! Cynical? Moi? Never!
Always interesting to see where one's bias lies...the comments are quite telling. When I watched the reunion of North and South leaders, my thought was of how old fashion and out of date the North leader was compared to his southern counterpart. His hair and garb showed just how much North Korea has been stuck in an antiquated frame of mind. The joy of the moment hopefully is a step toward healing the people of two countries who share an ancestral past and (fingers crossed) a bright future. Just look at what has become of Viet Nam!
Now that would have been hilarious.
ReplyDeleteBet Mel was jealous as hell......Well, perhaps not.
ReplyDeleteKorea Raymondo
DeleteOops! I'll leave my comment there as a penance, retaining my red face.
DeleteI knew it wasn't Trump because neither of the men in that photo is fat enough.

Well, Melanie refused to hold his hand, so someone Macron stepped up.
ReplyDeleteYou and I both fell into the trap, Mitch.
DeleteWho is Mel?. Melanie?. Lost!. This is about North /South Korea.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Trump and his French boyfriend this is the Korea bromance
ReplyDeleteYes, okay, okay. Got it now.

ReplyDeleteYou said it!
DeleteI'm not a fan of our macron, but we have to admit that for the first time, a french president speaks a better english than the US president...
DeleteI thought it was the most positive thing to happen on the Korean peninsula in my lifetime. And that is a LONG time.

Sweet; even with the presumed skipping.
ReplyDeleteWe are living in a metasexual world, eh?
ReplyDeleteLooks like Trump and Macron.
ReplyDeleteI was a little surprised when I saw it too and wondered if they were going to kiss lol.
ReplyDeleteDrink enough soju and you'll hold hands with anyone!
ReplyDeleteHere's to wishing better things for both Koreas (and hopefully, reunification in our lifetime).
I suspect Macron was using his prosthetic hand.
ReplyDeleteBut..... where would the skip too I wonder?????
