Ohhh John, there goes my daily dose of spluttering coffee all over the keyboard! (I expect my laptop will thank you for it). I hope all is well, recharge those batteries and come back refreshed (and soon, please).
As Meanqueen states it must be hard to keep going, day after day and always keeping your readers interested/amused. Thank you for the posts that you have written I have laughed; cried; felt angry; but always you have been life affirming. Enjoy your rest and when you are ready you will be welcomed back with cheers from all. Love Andie xxx
How terribly selfish of you. Sometimes I think about doing the same, but not quite yet. I do enjoy my blog break when I am on holidays, but then what do I do? I post holiday photos to FB.
I see that now Sue has done the same thing! So sad - I know that people need a break and time to recharge but it is very much like losing a friend. I hope that both are well and just need some time.
Hi Sue,I went to read your blog,as i do every day and you were gone too...I hope that every thing works out and we will see you back soon.Take care and Best wishes,Debi,xx
How do I start my day now? I am feeling sorry for myself and know that your followers will eagerly wait for you to come back to us. Have yourself fun adventures.
Enjoy your break John, thanks for the daily doses of life in your life and Trelawnyd's. . People around the world, cause you have friends around the world. will miss you. Maybe you'll break down and drop by once a week???????? Barb, Montreal Canada. xx
Take as long as you want, John. Blogging so regularly and responding to so many comments must be quite draining. Time for a well-deserved rest and some Scotch eggs.
I will miss you & your gang John-but I hope you are relaxing on a nice chaise longue being spoiled rotten by someone gorgeous with your furry friends xx
I hope you won't be away too long but you deserve a break, it must be very time-consuming. You have certainly made me laugh; cry and entertained. So bless you for that. Enjoy your time away with your family and animals and come back refreshed. xx
You will be missed John. I, like others, hope that you are okay and that you enjoy the well earned break. Look after yourself, the Prof and the menagerie- especially my fav, Albert.
Thanks for announcing your intention and not “doing a Hippo”.
I hope you are recovering well from last week's medical issue. May your break be just what you need. There will be a gap in my reading but I understand and applaud you for taking care of yourself. xx
As many of your fans have written, you will be missed. I do hope you will be back sooner than later as you are one of my favorite bloggers and look forward to hearing what you have to say every day - including updates on the Prof and all your furry friends. Take Care.Ranee (MN) USA
Thinking of you dear John - you have been my lifeline through some difficult days - have a break, take it easy and hopefully return full of your usual energy. Much love xx
John, I have just spent the last couple of weeks reading your blog from the beginning. It was a bright spot in my day. Please don't be gone too long but take care.
Oh no! Entirely understandable, but I hope you come back soon - I love the tales of Trelawnyd life and hearing about the animals and the cottage, it brightens my day to see a new post. Enjoy your break.
Remember some of us might suffer from things like Separation Anxiety and I/they might be unhappy or just really insecure and sad until you get back . Not to mention wanting our updates on pups Don’t Forget Us!!!
Oh I am so going to miss reading about your days John, with the fur babies and the Prof. You are my first visit every morning before I dash off to work and my last visit before I go to bed. I hope your time away allows you to rest and recharge fully and if you can, come back when you feel able. Thanks for the laughs, the tears and the insight into life in your lovely village. Take care xx
you are a welcomed part of my daily reading and I enjoy your life and posts so much. Will miss you, but sometimes time off is needed. I wish you only the best! Susan M
Enjoy your break John. I do hope you come back to blogging, I have enjoyed reading of your life and animal antics first thing each morning. Many thanks.
Missing you and the fur babies already!!,Maybe,if you have got more time on your hands now you could hire Winnie out doing plumbing jobs in the village?....,Just a thought!!,Hope to see you soon,Best wishes Debi,xx
I will miss your daily posts hugely. Thanks for keeping me amused, sad, and many emotions in between over the last few years. Have a good rest and come back soon. Love to all in your cottage. XX
Hope this break is finding you and yours in good health and happy. If so, please enjoy every moment and take notes to share at some later time. We all consider a friend and care about all of you that travel on 2 legs and 4 paws!
NO,NO,NO. i swear i'll sue. i live vicariously through you, your hubby and your cute animals. I DO NOT CONDONE THIS FREE-WHEELING, BREAK. is this hippo's revenge? don't be gone for long. i'm old and close to popping out so i'll be patient (that's a lie) , and wait.
I'm sorry, that was so selfish of me. If you need a break, of course you must have one, but I don't think you know how many of us live vicariously through your wonderful humorous and gentle posts. Blessings to you and all you love
Come on peeps, lets make this a virtual standing ovation. Do you reckon we can get the comment count up to 1000 on this post alone? I'm sure we can. Everybody comment again...and again...and again. Please come back when you are ready, John.
Im with you on that one Ilona, what time shall we do it?..We can all send a ripple around Johns village,a bit like a mini earthquake, but enough to wake John up from snoozing or reading or what ever it is what men get upto in their spare time, lol,Debi,xx
Hi John I don't normally comment.Love your blog about your life with hubby, the film reviews and the animals. You will be greatly missed. Hope you are recharged soon and blogging when you feel ready. As Mean Queen quite rightly suggested here is your standing ovation from me.... *clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap* Golden Sunflower.
Hi,still here, standing in virtual blogging land, smiling and clapping- Hope you feel the bloggy love You deserve it - John you have a very kind soul.Come on every body like MQ said lets make it to a 1000 posts!! G.S.
Oh,although Im 62,you have made me feel like I am 11 and just been dumped by my 12 year old boyfriend...I remember it well!!,Take care John, looking forward to seeing you back on here!,Debi,xx
Oh my...I find two losses in one day. First Sue from a Challenging year and now you, John. I am sad. Seems as tho Sue is gone for good...thankfully you are only taking a break...Enjoy.
Oh and another thing...just how are me and YP going to be in touch when he tells us about the Giraffe???..He has got clever bugger ..how to comment on his blog..i can only do Anon cause im not very clever on these things and I can only compliment him through yoU???...Maybe you should rethink because Ive gone back to being that 11 year old girl....remember i was dumped by that 12 year old boy and now i cant get in touch with YP aswell, its very sad and Im feeling very sorry for myself.Debi,xx... But if you do change your mind,I will be here waiting for you!!!!
Of course you must do what you need to do but you will be missed by, dare I say, hundreds. Hope everything is ok with you and the Prof and your menagerie.
I don't comment often but always read. I too will miss you but will await your return. When you come back you could post weekly instead of daily to make it easier on yourself. Just a thought although we all love the daily posts. x
Oh no....John you are much loved, enjoy your break away and have some time for yourself. Sending thoughts through the online ether to the Prof, fabulous pet family but especially yourself.
Sometimes adding to the pressure of a blogger by wanting more and more, whether it be in the form of comments or questions is exactly the wrong thing to do.
Enjoy your break John. Just remember to intersperse the Kitkats with some Scotch eggs 😊
Wow - I feel chastised and saddened by your comment :( I am sure if John hadn't wanted comments then he would have switched them off. Sometimes it is lovely for a blogger to feel that they have touched peoples lives in a positive way. Also, knowing that bloggers are waiting for him when he chooses (or if he chooses) to return. No pressure was intended by myself or I am sure other commenters and I apologise John if my comments were deemed as such :( Sue, your comment has reminded me, sadly, why I don't leave comments on blogs :( I shall return to being invisible. Sue aka Golden Sunflower.
Sue aka Golden Sunflower, I also feel chastised. My comment about giving John a standing ovation and getting the comment count up to 1000 was a bit of fun. He can surely choose to ignore all comments if he so wishes, or as you say, switch them off. I also apologise to John if I have overstepped the mark.
When I don't hear from a close friend for a while I start to worry , are they o.k. is something wrong. John I guess I consider you a close friend, I'm beginning to worry..... 2 days is enough , you can come back now...... we love you and miss you.
Probably not my place to reply to this, but John does not have to give any reasons why he is taking a blog break. He has a private life, the same as we all do.
Both you and Lynn Bowles in the same week!!! I hope you return refreshed with your wonderful tales of high jinks and life very soon. I can do without traffic reports but not sure I can manage without your Trelawnyd news!! Wishing you well.
Best wishes, John. I did wonder the day before if you were peeved by a couple of the comments on your previous post... In fact, I felt it on your behalf! Hope you benefit from the change of energy. xxxx
I'm a big believer in taking blog breaks at least once a year to rest and recharge the old blogging batteries. I'm amazed you've gone 12 years without one! Have a nice refreshing break for as long as you need!
Rest up and hope to see you back here.Lots of cuddles with the critters always help healing. My unsolicited advice is to remove trolls promptly from your space. They are like cancer in the body, best treated early.
Oh how we are going to miss you! Are you going to stay active on FB?
ReplyDeleteAll the best John, have fun!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, it is hard work to keep going.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few thousand people out there who are going to make their way to Trelawnyd and strap you to a computer.

ReplyDeleteOh, and just when I've found you! Have a lovely break and enjoy the furry bosom of your family!

Rest up and hope to see you back here.Lots of cuddles with the critters always help healing. My unsolicited advice is to remove trolls promptly from your space. They are like cancer in the body, best treated early.
ReplyDeleteI miss you already. And I miss you on post Walking Dead days. :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you always.
