Village Bound

We are effectively snowed in.
The lane clogs up easily with ice and snow at the drop of a hat so this does happen a lot in bad weather, but we have food, fuel and thanks to the new thermal store wonderful wood fired central heating, so all is toasty in Bwthyn y llan.
I've done my neighbourly jobs this morning and after feeding up Irenevand the batchelors with corn I have salted and cleared the pavements in old Trevor's bungalow which lies behind us. Trendy Carol ( in  multicoloured ski jacket and matching accessories)  tottered past and informed me that the village carol service was cancelled due to the bad weather.
This is a shame as Cameron the teenage boffin, was to solo a big moment in the proceedings on his harp!
I was never good at anything, apart from sulking and keeping tropical fish when I was a teen.

Mary and I this morning

  1. Irene and the Bachelors? Sounds like a pop group. Didn't they record a cover of Black Sabbath's "Snowblind"?

  2. Somebody should get Cameron to play at a Christmas church service so his hard practice doesn't go to waste.

I'm sure you were good at stuff as a teen but people skills are probably your forte and they are not highly valued in that world

    4. Yes, I get it, an accumulator. I thought it wasn't a fat finger misprint because r and v are not close together on the keypad.

  6. It['s beautiful isn't it at the moment. Not often we get this much snow in our neck of the woods. The Pug had a mad half hour in the paddock before, she's never seen so much white stuff :-)

    2. Now it's tomorrow .... and you were right, glorious sunshine.

Unfortunately it won't reach our side of the hill until late afternoon so it's not having much effect on melting the snow or ice. But it looks wonderful :-)

  10. I like the snow early in the morning and late at night. Sounds are muffled and the Christmas lights look great. The first time it really snowed when I first retired was fantastic. No commute! I did a happy dance in my PJ's until I had to go get my grandkids for a snow day. Enjoy it.

    1. Funny, both Welsh terriers get very excited in snow, even William in his dotage. George just potters in it as usual. Winnie hates it with a vengeance
