Waiting for another workman who promised to arrive at 9.30.
It's 10.30
Then it's Xmas shopping with prof
Then it's his works dinner
Nose to nipple with academics
Hey ho
Do academics have "works dinners"? I guess they don oily overalls and safety helmets, simplify their vocabularies and drink foaming pints of ale before heading to the nearest strip club. You'll have fun when the conga dancing starts.
I'm sure you will have had a lovely time, as if you met any condescending academics you will have enjoyed dragging them down to your superior blowsy level. Good for you if you did.

ReplyDeleteSome of the 'demics are surely a bit interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have been to a few nurses' Christmas parties - they are a bit more wild than academics I would imagine.
ReplyDeletethe party sounds boring; feign an illness and don't go.
ReplyDeleteWell you should be taller ......
ReplyDeleteAnd the highlight of that might be, waiting for the workman.
ReplyDeleteI know someone who has five different jobs (to make ends meet). I wonder if she has five Xmas parties?
ReplyDeleteI used to like the office party. Fun days in the 70s and 80s.
ReplyDeleteIt's tough at the top ! XXXX
ReplyDeleteHey....keep your nose to yourself!
ReplyDeleteI only liked the Christmas parties that my husband threw for his employees ... because I got to plan them :)
ReplyDeleteAn evening chockablock with academics? Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI had two dinners with car guys, you can have fun with the professors. LOL
ReplyDeleteVery worried when I saw that title. Thought it was going to be a photo of "bits"....frightening thought
ReplyDeleteI confess that I was a little disappointed.
DeleteOh dear. I hope your workman arrived when he said and did not disturb the day too much.
ReplyDeleteWinnie must be going insane waiting for the 'workman'.
ReplyDeleteCheer up. Christmas comes but once a year (thank goodness)
ReplyDeleteEven though I love many things about Christmas I'm so glad when it is over
DeleteSome academics must be worth knowing, after all the Prof is one :)
ReplyDeleteYou may have said so in the past and I just missed it, but what is the Prof a professor of?
ReplyDeleteHealth care sciences

ReplyDeleteHave UK universities cut back on the quality of the catering for staff functionstoo? Stingy now, the good stuff is saved for the administrators!!
ReplyDeleteUf. Did lots of those nose-to-nipples events (although I never knew that's what they were called). Didn't enjoy many (any?) of them.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun, photos please! Academic gowns swirling on the dance floor?
