The Snowman
We went to see the serial killer movie The Snowman tonight, which was two hours I am not going to ever get back.
The Prof enjoyed the gratuitous shots of Michael Fassbender in his underpants though
I had this down to see in a couple of days, but got put off by so many reviews on the lines of it not fulfilling its promise by some considerable margin, which you've now confirmed. Darned shame 'cos it looked like it could have been something really special.
Okay buddy. It's been a while. The Snowman sounds dreadful to me. Just wanted to stop in and say "hi" and pass on a story. Went to a funeral today for our friend, 62 year old Mark. It was one of the best funerals I've ever been to. The songs were uplifting and though many of us are grieving his death, we are rejoicing that he is with Jesus. You will see why this reminded me of you in a minute. The preacher told a story from 3 years ago when he first met Mark. Mark confided to him that he had gone to church and Sunday school as a boy & knew all the Bible verses, etc., but didn't feel a connection with God and wondered if he ever would. The Pastor said,"Probably not.", which startled Mark. He told him you can have all the head knowledge, but it has to be a heart thing. 18" that makes all the difference in the world, but the most difficult 18" to travel. Mark said,"Well, you know I'm gay. Is that all right with you?" The preacher said,"Well, you know I'm not gay. Is that all right with you?" Mark's personal relationship with Jesus Christ began not long after that. It's about love. It's always been about love. Mark always had a huge capacity for love. Always greeted me with a big, warm hug. He just had to see he, himself, was worthy of God's love. Mark was an amazing man. A world traveler. Remember "Up With People"? He and his life-mate met while representing that group, just out of college. They were together 25 years before his mate died. Mark returned to his birthplace here in Idaho not long after that to open a fabulous restaurant and help his mother. He was a grand entertainer and just a wonderful man. He will be missed. He will not be forgotten, because love never dies. Even though I haven't been in touch with you much the past few years, I wanted you to know that I have cherished our friendship and love you, friend. x-c
Coincidentally, I just recently read the book and I really liked it. Didn't know they were making a movie. Now, one movie I just saw and absolutely looooooooooved is 'Maudie'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess Fassbender needed to defecate. Normally, you don't witness such everyday bodily functions in films.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had a sneaky feeling those jockies were much fuller than the film.
ReplyDeleteA better question is was Michael Fassbender able to keep those glorious long inches in the briefs??? The movie looks rather entertaining I think.
ReplyDeleteIt isnt
DeleteOh darn... i thought this had a chance of being good.. i wasn't going to go to the theater to see it but on DVD... What was so bad about it John??
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't come out until the 20th over here and I've been waiting for it!
ReplyDeleteI love Jo Nesbo's books.
Love his books, too!
