The new kitchen table and chairs
There is no salesperson to deal with.
No " can I help you?"
No waiting at the checkout.
And no crowds !
I've just bought a kitchen table and two chairs from John Lewis at the same time Mary was licking
my feet!
I didn't have to move either, when a chirpy Scottish lady phoned to sort out delivery. I just reached for the phone and bingo everything was sorted!
Mary feet licking
The Prof , paddleboarding today
looks like a cozy breakfast spot!
ReplyDeletebut mary mary mary - ew!
I like it !
ReplyDeleteI love shopping online .. there are some good clothing websites as well as perfume and makeup sites that I use.
Enjoy !
The new table and chairs look great. Who licks Chris's feet? Perhaps lesser academics in his department.
ReplyDeleteGreat set. With my health issues shopping on line is great. I never did enjoy crowds in shops anyway.
ReplyDeleteI still like to check out the actual item, to make sure it's exactly what I want, rather than ordering it from a photo. The only things I order online are books, on the basis of good reviews or a recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nick - I like to check things out in the store rather than from an online photo.
ReplyDeleteWhich one was the Prof - the one falling off at the beginning?
I love online shopping for all the reasons you just stated (with the exception of feet licking) but I would take any chance for a good browse around John Lewis. X
ReplyDeleteprof goes splat, girls are amused.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the time I was in a chain store in the centre of Vienna when the salesman ushered myself and person I was with to his desk with a bunch of order forms under his arm and a smile on his face. We sat down. And he sat down. And his chair collapsed and he ended up on the floor from where he uttered the words It's not properly assembled. It's only for display. We told him we'd shop elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteDoes the prof know you posted that! I like the table and chairs.
ReplyDeleteNo! I may have to pull it later
DeleteI think you are enjoying your time home alone. I bought a book today from Amazon, one click and there it was straightaway on my Kindle. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat dining table is just the right size for our place too. Nice laughter.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be on line shopping any day than be dumped off a paddle board. He didn't stay upright long did he?
ReplyDeleteI really like your table and chairs but where would a visitor sit?
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing you can't have delivered from the comfort of your armchair these days. Anything that helps avoid having to deal with people has to be a good thing! Gods bless the internet :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad it was so easy. I always need to measure the height of chairs and actually SIT in them to be sure they'll be comfortable. You did well! And the Prof is enjoying himself too. As is Mary!
ReplyDeleteI like going to the secondhand store or an auction to choose my furniture.
ReplyDeleteI might try that myself John as I need a new kitchen table and two chairs.
ReplyDeleteOnline shopping is so much better than trailing round the shops .... or falling off a paddle board 😉
ReplyDeleteI like the table and chairs, Mary is alittle star in the making. And on the subject of licking things I have just been told Pine Martens in Scotland are rather fond of strawberry jam....
ReplyDeleteI have almost total sales reistance (except for books and plants). Online shopping is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI doubt I would have been upright as long as the Prof - and hope he too is having a wonderful time.
Basil my car does a lovely foot wash. He prefers grubby smelly feet
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the Prof only William and Mary abusing each other!!!
ReplyDeleteI shop for many things online. I do like your little kitchen set.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you didn't visit your local sale room, such things are almost given away. You'd be amazed!
ReplyDeleteNow that's falling with style! X
