I suspect you will be a weeping mess tomorrow night. no matter; one chapter ends and another one begins.

  10. Hope you love being retired as much as I do. Now you will be busier than ever, but on your own terms - well, more than previously, anyway.

  11. So close! I'm deeply envious, as for me the blessed day is still, in the way that I'm counting it to maintain the vestiges of my sanity, 85 weekends off.

We look forward to your adventures in retirement.

  12. Look at those eyes! I wonder if the dragonfly has hynotised Albert or v.v.?

Perhaps you'll be hearing some 'home truths' after tomorrow's shift - stuff that others have held back from telling you but now it's their last chance. But I've no doubt that you can also get a final dig in, even if it's in the form of a written goodbye note. Nothing to lose now.

  13. Hope you enjoy your retirement. I had bad dreams - that I was late for work! They went on for a long time. Once you get over side effects retirement is great. You'll wonder how you found the time to go to work.

  14. Can you wear an Hawaiian shirt on your last day? A flower lai or coconut bra would be nice accessories.

  15. Albert has such a manic look in his eye.

Hope the last two shifts are good ones to end on. The end is so close now. It must be a very odd feeling. I am sure there will be many stories to come from retirement.

  24. Fantastic photo - shows sheer concentration in his eyes and is of course the reason they are so good at catching things.
Happy retirement - sounds as though it is nearly here - although you do so many other things that you can't really say you have retired.

  25. Albert's look is concentrated. All the best for your last two shifts, John. I bet there'll be a large tray of scotch eggs and champers as a send-off. Remember now your life begins in earnest. We look forward to many stories about this new chapter. xx
