I facetimed my husband just before he went to bed in his London hotel room this evening
He 's had a crap birthday.
He asked me if all the dogs were on the bed and I said "of course not!"
Of course they were!
Hey ho
Before I went to bed Winnie sat in the arm chair next to me and carefully watched me for over an hour as I watched tv
I have no idea why, but she did it..... There must have been a reason....she looked so serious!
Bulldogs think..I know they do........but of what? .......I have no idea
My pug thinks about food, and sunny days, and soft blankets for napping.
ReplyDelete"ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz"
lizzy
Bones?
ReplyDeleteI think she just watches........
DeleteNo she's hoping you'll eat crackers in bed.
DeleteShe wants the men in overalls to visit. She is willing you to call for repairs. Or maybe she just wants a hug and a rub down. That is pure doggy love in her eyes.
ReplyDeleteShe has been incredibly clingy today
Deleteperhaps because the prof is away?
DeleteMy staffy pup Bonnie, literally stares at me all the time too x
DeleteBirthdays when separated from loved ones are usually not the best. No matter how much planning ahead is done.
ReplyDeleteWinnie may have been doing an imitation of the Prof to keep you company?
They DO have the same expression
DeleteWinnie is probably wondering why you are so complacent with Chris missing.
ReplyDeleteSomething like, "I wonder if I can freak out this human by staring at him for an hour or so."
ReplyDeleteBecause one of her humans is missing and she is keeping a close eye on you to be sure you don't go missing also. Plus she loves you and probably just likes to look at you. I did that to my husband lol
ReplyDeleteWatson would sit outside and have a moment or more of zen.
ReplyDeleteI loved it.
Maybe Winnie just loves you (I know she does) or she could be starting to feel ill again.
I think it is love.
cheers, parsnip
I am sorry to hear the prof had a shite birthday. :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe she was wondering why THAT particular program???
ReplyDeleteGeorge told her about the twelve mini-wieners and now she's trying to ESP you her request ...
ReplyDeleteBok STARES at me; but it's usually because he wants a biscuit.
ReplyDelete"When's he gonna move his fat arse and get me something to eat"
ReplyDeleteYep thats about it
ReplyDeleteI'm with Rachel on this one. Feed her man she's wasting away.
ReplyDeleteShe loves you John.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she's considering the Brexit effect on dog treat imports?
ReplyDeleteYou make 'Facetimed' sound like a euphemism, but maybe it's just me...
ReplyDeletedirty boy
DeleteShe is wondering if you know how well the dogs have you trained.
ReplyDeletePure Adoration. "You are worthy"
ReplyDeleteThe Look of Love is in her eyes.
ReplyDeleteOh, John, I thought of you and Winnie yesterday as I was meeting my neighbor's new bulldog puppy. Her old dog died last year and we were wondering when she would be ready for another. And, here she came down the sidewalk with a beautiful black and white bulldog puppy. Such a friendly and sweet natured pup!
ReplyDeleteAll is now right on my block.
Keeping an "eye love watch" over you while your prof was gone!
ReplyDeleteMy Frenchie climbs up on the Boy Scouts lap, puts her paws on each of his shoulders and licks his face whenever we argue. Her discomfort is palpable and her desire to make it better is humanlike.
ReplyDeleteThat's pure love in her eyes - for you, John. I'm wondering; does Chris read your blog?
ReplyDeleteYour post today about Winnie has stirred a memory of our old neighbour's bulldog called Emma from when I was a child. She was the first one I had encountered and I've retained a soft spot for them ever since. They are such characters! Arilx
ReplyDeleteMy two fur kids are always on alert if one of us is absent..without the household complete Winnie was probably just considering your shared circumstance and feelings.. dogs as you know are very aware of both.
